The Naval Ship Museum in Jackson, Michigan is the only museum of its kind in the United States. It was founded in 1963 and contains more than 50 warships from the American Navy. The ship museum is open to the public from 9am to 4pm every day except Thanksgiving Day. Admission is free for anyone age 13 or older. The history of naval ships starts with USS Constitution (1775-1814) which was begun as a brigantine but became a warship after being purchased by the United States government in 1798. The Constitution served as flagship of Commodore Joshua Brown's Squadron during the War of 1812 and played an important role in that conflict as well as others afterwards. She participated in several actions against Spanish vessels including THE FIFTH FLOOD (1813), HUDSON (1825), ANDREW JACKSON'S GREAT LAKES SHIPyard JAMES KENNEDY (1827), MARY JANE (1828), and LOUISA GEORGE CLARKSBURG USS "HECKLEY" (1830). In 1836, she took part inBUFFALO"s Attack on Pearl Harbor before finally decommissioning at Mare Island Naval Shipyard two years later. In 1863, Congress passed an act authorizing construction of a navy ship museum and on May 15th,1963, this institution opened its doors to the public! At that time it consisted of just sixboats--the Ulysses S. Grant, USS Monitor, USS Tecumseh,USS Bagdad(AO-2),USS Decatur(AFR-6),USS John Cushing(AGR-10)--all donated by various individuals or groups interested in naval museums around America. Today we have more than 50 warships from both world wars stored inside our beautiful building! We offer tours every morning starting at 9am for those who want to see all of our collection at once; there are also docent programs available daily from 10am until 3pm for those wanting even more information about each specific vessel! Our goal is always to share our maritime heritage with everyone who visits us so that they can learn about how their community helped contribute to America's Armed Forces through History!

Jackson, Michigan is a small city located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 4,769 at the 2010 census. The city is named after General Jackson who helped to win the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1814. Jackson is home to the United States Military Academy and West Point, two of America's leading military academies. It also has a variety of cultural attractions such as museums and theaters. The first settler in Jackson was John Boucher who arrived in 1795. He built a log cabin on the banks of the Muskegon River.After several years he sold his cabin and started to cultivate land around it. In 1800, Peter Schuyler purchased some land from Boucher and founded what would become Schuyler Township. In 1824, Nicholas Canby donated 1,000 acres (400 hectares) to the town for development purposes only; it later became known as Canby Township Heights neighborhoods today). In 1840, George Stephenson petitioned for government aid for Cass County because there were not enough taxable properties within its boundaries. He offered 3% of his total property value for each township voter to donate towards building a road from village to village – this effort led to creation of Ottawa Township which now includes downtown Ottawa along with surrounding neighborhoods including North Park Village and parts of Ridgeway Heights and Forest Glen Village . In 1846, James Ketterer opened up an inn on State Street called "The Hotel Royal" which served as a meeting spot for local farmers and businessmen during agricultural fairs that took place throughout the area every summertime.Ketterer also operated an early post office in what is now downtown Ottawa from 1847-1851 (The establishment date of "The Hotel Royal" remains unknown). By 1850, all but one building on State Street had been taken down or demolished by those who constructed new homes in central Ottawa since then known as Ottawa Centre while Ketterer's old hotel still stands vacant today inside present day Confederation Palace grounds - blockaded by modern day buildings between their original location + frontage alley once used by Ketterer back when it stood next door to where Parliament Buildings are currently located! ). Downtown Ottawa (now known as Confederation Palace Grounds) was officially established on July 1st 1870 when James Sayers moved into His Majesties palace across from King's Chapel after being offered 2 blocks east along Queen's Road from where he resided at 6th & York Streets during that period before moving uptown following annexation by Ontario following Canada's founding with Sayers becoming its first Senator . On November 15th 1906 due largely due to WWI efforts Detroit Mayor Abram Hewitt dedicated MLK Drive just north/west of current day Elmira Avenue intersection adjacent both streets bordering Canadia Business Park (then part of former industrial lands northeast corner M-15 freeway extension built southwesterly onto I-75) - thus commemorating Dr Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination less than 5 miles away immediately south/east off M-48 highway just prior east side opposite paved median separating Canadia Business Park lots near current day intersection - KLK Drive designation reflecting jurisdictional line between Detroit & Washtenaw Counties approximately concurrent with erection date

Jackson, Michigan is a small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was founded on October 15, 1837 by Solomon Young and his brother James Jackson. The township was named for John C. Jackson, a United States Senator from Ohio who had died in 1836. The population of the town was 479 at the time of the 2000 census. The township's first school opened in 1838 and it served grades one to twelve until 1870 when an addition to the building added grades thirteen through fifteen. In 1893, an addition to the school system added a high school which served students from seventh through twelfth grade until 1978 when it closed due to budgetary limitations. Jackson has been home to two automotive manufacturing plants since their inception: Chrysler Corporation's Big Three Plant (1913-1974) and Ford Motor Company's Dearborn Assembly Plant (1976-present). Chrysler Corporation built four generations of its Dodge Ram truck line here; Ford Motor Company produced several different types of cars, including the Mustang convertible and Escort sedan here as well as V8 engines for both GMC and Pontiac vehicles before moving production overseas in 2006. Ford also built some light trucks here during this time period such as the Mercury Mariner/Lamborghini Diablo AWD models which were designed here under license from Ferrariussia Automobiles SPAU AB à Milan Italy In 2007, Jackson became home to sole occupant L'Oreal USA LLCs new global headquarters after years of location speculation around Detroit suburb Dearborn Heights - site that had been vacant for over 20 years
Jackson was founded in 1807 by Major George Jackson and his family. The town was named for General Jackson, the first U.S. general to be killed in action while fighting in the Mexican-American War. The community grew rapidly due to its location on the Grand River, which led to a boom in businesses and agricultural production. In 1825, Jackson was renamed as Detroit after Napoleon Bonaparte's victory over American forces at Battle of Gettysburg.
