It opened in 1907 and served coffee from a small pot that sat on a table in the front room. By 1912, the business had moved to its current location on Fourth Street and started serving coffee from a larger pot that sat on a large concrete counter. In 1922, the business moved again, this time to First Avenue and served coffee from an even larger pot that sat atop a large metal stand. In 1928, the store closed for good but it is still remembered today for its excellent coffee services. The store's legacy has continued onto today as the current Gourmet Coffee House which serves fantastic coffee every day of the year!

Inkster, Michigan is a small town in the Kalamazoo Valley of the US state of Michigan. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. Inkster is located on the eastern edge of Kalamazoo County and is bordered by Ashtabula to the north, Battle Creek to the east, and Mecosta to the south. It has a humid continental climate with cold winters and hot summers. The first permanent settler in Inkster was John Dooley in 1825. The current town site was laid out in 1836 by Augustus Prentice after he surveyed what would become Inkster Township. According to local legend, King George III asked Prentice what name he wanted given to his new community; Prentice replied "Inkster" because it had been mentioned several times during his surveying work near Grand Rapids. In 1860, David Hays donated land for a post office which opened on November 1, 1860. The present day post office building was built in 1903 and still stands today. According to the United States Census Bureau, Inkster has a total area of , all of it land. As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 7,884 people, 2,898 households, and 2,482 families residing in the town. The population density was 913 people per square mile (362/km²). The bridge opened in 1932 and is now part of the Interstate 95 corridor connecting Detroit and Saginaw. The first permanent settler in Inkster was George W. Inkster, who arrived with his family from Pennsylvania in 1868. In 1870, he erected a log cabin near what is now Grand Rapids' downtown core; this later served as the town's first post office until it closed in 1934. In 1871, Inkster married Anna Maria (née Schoen) and they started a family that would also live in inksters for many years to come: AnnaMaria had two children, John and Sarah Jane; John would become an accountant and serve as mayor of Inkster before moving away to pursue his dream career; Sarah Jane would marry Donald Ritchie, who would be one of the founders of First Western Michigan University (now Wayne State University). Inkster is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the seat of Oakland County. The population was 26,531 at the 2010 census. Inkster is one of two cities in Oakland County, along with East Lansing, that are both considered part of the Detroit metropolitan area. The area now known as Inkster was first settled by Native Americans in the mid-19th century. One group led by Chief Pontiac moved from what is now Clinton Township to what is now Inkster in 1847 and named their new village after General James Wilkinson's estate near Youngstown, Ohio. The first post office was established in 1852 at Point Lookout on the Rouge River; it moved to its current location on Main Street in 1872. In 1875, a deep mine shaft opened within walking distance of Main Street and quickly became an important center for local commerce. By 1900, when most businesses closed because of continued mining activities, Inkster had become an agricultural town with a population of around 100 people. In 1915, Inkster incorporated as a city under the name "Inkster". The name change came about because many residents wanted to avoid being associated with "Inkstersville" (near East Lansing) which had been renamed "East Lansing" following World War I for military purposes only.
