One such donation by an officer during this time came in the form of a new motorcycle helmet which had been donated by Captain Jack Wilkinson following his retirement from service within the department on December 15th, 1924. Following Captain Wilkinson’s death on January 8th, 1927 – coincidentally just one month after his new bike was delivered – another officer offered their own small collection of items from their personal collection as part of what became known as The Officers’ Collection Scheme. This grant-winning initiative saw officers offer various items including clothing (e.g., gloves), tools (e.g., crowbars and hammers), or memorabilia (i.e., photographs) directly to citizens who were willing to donate them back into circulation within the department itself! Throughout these years there have been numerous donations both large and small which have helped keep our police forcefunctioning efficiently and effectively; however none are more meaningful or appreciated than those made by our fallen colleagues who have left us behind each and every day!

They also erected a log cabin with a small chimney for use as a storehouse and used it as their home until 1865 when they sold it to Captain George Davenport who operated the Davenport Lumber Company here until 1887 when he sold it to Mr. Fenton Reid who operates it today.
