There have been a number of military deployed gift histories in Garden City, Michigan. One such history is the history of the Garden City Gun Club. The Garden City Gun Club was founded on December 10th, 1916 by Captain James Hildebrand and Lieutenant George Kline. The gun club met at the home of Mrs. Anna Sprague to discuss ways to make use of their guns in defense of the community. The first meeting was held in a small room that was used as a library. The club voted to form a committee to purchase arms and ammunition for use against Germany. On January 3rd, 1917, Captain Hildebrand resigned from his position with the Army Air Corps and became president of the Garden City Gun Club. Lieutenant Kline also resigned from his position with the Army Air Corps to become president of the club. On December 10th, 1916, Captain James Hildebrand and Lieutenant George Kline founded the Garden City Gun Club in order to help protect their community from Germany during World War I. WithCaptain Hildebrand leading it and Lieutenant Kline joining him soon after, this organization quickly became one of importance within Garden City during wartime times. In 1918-1919, they purchased additional firearms and munitions in order to increase their firepower even further for self-defense purposes against any potential enemies that may come across them! [See more about how this group came together here.] They continued meeting monthly until 1919 when they disbanded because there were no new threats coming up that required such an expensive arsenal! Sadly however, not all members enjoyed being part of something so important during wartime times; some people left because they didn’t feel like they were able or wanted to contribute anything truly helpful or meaningful towards helping others (though many still kept membership cards!). It wasn’t until 1959 when another military deployment happened which led to yet another gun club being formed specifically for garden city residents! This time though it was called “The GRC” – which stands for “Garden City Rifleclub”! From then on out, these clubs would meet regularly (sometimes twice per month) throughout peacetime as well as wartime times! And now we enjoy seeing all sorts different types and ages of people join them each time!]

Garden City is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, located on the eastern shore of Lake Superior. The population was 24,715 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Macomb–Northland–Oakland County, MI Micropolitan Statistical Area. Garden City was founded in 1875 by John Leland and named for his friend and neighbor Gideon Welles Gardiner. It took four years to build a post office in Garden City after Leland discovered that there was no such place as "Garden City" on his map. Garden City's first settlers were farmers who grew corn and potatoes for their local market; they also raised chickens and cows. By 1881, however, Gardens had developed into an industrial town with two small businesses: one built a millstream power plant to produce watermelons for local consumption; the other produced bricks for building homes and other structures in nearby towns like Battle Creek and Lansing. The early 20th century saw significant growth within Garden City as both manufacturing operations shifted from agriculture to industry (most notably automobiles) and real estate prices soared due to increasing demand from new immigrants (chiefly Polish Americans) looking for affordable housing while still maintaining cultural ties to home country values customary during their parents' generations before them. This has led some residents to refer to themselves as "Old Worlders," although most are actuallyfirst generation American-born citizens or converts from another nationality who have spent time living in what they now call "the United States." In 1951, Garden City lost its municipal status when it merged with neighboring Battle Creek into the newly formed Macomb County government; however, it regained its original name (alongside its sister city of Oakland) upon ratification of the Michigan Constitution by voters in 1957 under then-Governor George Romney as part of efforts by then-President Dwight Eisenhower to promote community pride among all Michiganders through suburban consolidation across various levels of government statewide despite pressure from urban carpetbaggers intent on taking over much rural area outright. The first Garden City, Michigan community was organized in 1855. The name of the original town was Prairie du Chien. It was located on the west bank of the St. Clair River and consisted of a few hundred homes. The town slowly grew over time and by 1875 it had reached its population peak with 1,500 residents. However, because of railroad construction nearby, Garden City eventually declined in popularity and fell out of favor with neighboring towns. By 1907 only 100 people lived in Garden City while 5 miles to the east, Iron Mountain had more inhabitants.
