Eastpointe, Michigan is a small city located in the Midwestern United States. It has been home to various businesses and industries for over 125 years, and its economy still relies heavily on manufacturing. The city's history can be traced back to the late 1800s when it was part of the Michigan Territory. In 1837, Eastpointe became the first town in Michigan to be incorporated as a village. It remained an agricultural community until after World War II when industry began to take hold. Today, Eastpointe is known for its highly automated manufacturing plants and its role as a bedroom community for Detroit. One of the earliest businesses in Eastpointe was J & H Coffee Company which opened in 1892. The company manufactured coffee beans and sold them from small storefronts around town. J & H Coffee closed down in 1907 but their legacy continues on today as one of the most well-known and popular coffee companies in Michigan. Other early businesses in Eastpointe include Mr. Bick's bakery (1896), Pabst Brewery (1902), Ivey Manufacturing Company (1906), American Rubber Co.(1910), Stonington Motors(1920) and Goudreau Chevrolet Division(1924). One of the most significant changes that took place during World War II was the growth of suburbs outside of Detroit which caused east pointee's population to grow by 50%. As an result, many factories closed down or moved out of town while others shifted production towards war-time needs such as arms production. However, even with all these changes, Eastpointe remains one of America's oldest cities with roots dating back to 1840!

The first coffee shop in Eastpointe, Michigan opened in 1927. It was called the Grosse Pointe Coffee Company and served coffee from a small roaster on the corner of Griggs and Columbia Streets. The shop closed in 1951. In 1957, the first Starbucks opened in Eastpointe and it was known as The Starbuck’s Cafeteria. It became a popular hangout for locals and visitors alike, until it closed its doors in 2007. In 2011, Peet’s Coffee & Tea moved into the space that had been occupied by The Starbuck’s Cafeteria and began to serve coffee through a self-service kiosk. This location also serves pastries such as donuts and croissants. In 2017, Peet’s Coffee & Tea reopened as an independent business with its own café inside of their store which offers drinks and pastries all day long!
Eastpointe is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, located on the east side of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 86,871 at the 2010 census, making it the largest city in and the county seat for Oakland County. Eastpointe is one of four cities in Oakland County and is home to over 100 businesses and 2,000 residents. East Pointe also has a large agricultural sector, with crops such as apples, maize, potatoes, carrots and soybeans being grown commercially. In 1834 when Detroit was founded by George Washington Snyder and others as an outpost on Grand River rapids near what is now downtown Detroit, they named their new settlement "Eastpointe". In 1837 they built a sawmill on Little Gratiot Creek which became known as "The Mill" because it furnished lumber for construction in downtown Detroit. By 1850 there were twenty-one mills in Easttown Township; thirteen of these were within three miles (five km) of each other. Eastpointe is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, located on the east side of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The population was 36,925 at the 2010 census and was projected to grow to 50,824 by 2020. Eastpointe is part of Metro Detroit statistical area. The name "Eastpointe" may derive from English explorer John James Audubon's 1820 visit to this region and his map which called it "Eaux-de-la-Lune". The first permanent settler in what is now Eastpointe Township was David Goodrich in 1834. He founded a farmstead on what is now the west side of Grand River Avenue. Goodrich named his farm after George Washington Carver who had donated land for a school district in that township. In 1835, Goodrich's son Amos built a log cabin on present day Kalamazoo Street just south of State Road 489 near where it meets Woodward Avenue today. Amos' cabin became known as Carver House because it did not have walls around it like many later houses did and people could come and go as they pleased during its early years. In 1840, John Prentice moved from Canada with his family to what is now Saginaw County and began clearcutting forest near present day White Cloud Road and White Cloud Lake in anticipation of selling lumber back home at an above market price due to agricultural depression at the time (the Panic of 1837). When Prentice arrived in America he met Captain George Higginson who was exploring this part of Michigan for prospective investors looking for land for development purposes including timbering developments along lower Huron River valley which lay between Saginaw Bay on the north side and Mackinac Island on the south side - one potential route for vessels transporting goods downriver from Superior or Chicago ports via Holland Landing/Grand Rapids would exist then! After some initial problems getting drinking water established among settlers living along lower Huron River he managed to get permission from US Secretary Andrew Jackson to start building a canal across that river using public funds - this became known as Canalsetter Canal Project! Work started on Canalsetter Canal mainline (now I-75) between Saginaw Bay & Mackinac Island in late 1840s but progress stalled due mainly to lack Of skilled labor locally available plus construction costs escalating rapidly!! finally completed 2 years later !!
