The first café known as Café de Paris located on Woodward Avenue began serving small-batch espresso drinks in 1898. Cafés De Paris served small-batch espresso drinks from 1898 through 1966. In 1966, Bob’s Coffee opened its first store in Dearborn Heights and began serving drip coffee and smaller cups of espresso called “brosses”. Dearborn Heights is a small town in the west side of Michigan, about 25 miles from Detroit. The population was 7,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dearborn Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement in what is now Dearborn Heights was made on a site that is now home to Eastern Technical High School. A post office was founded there on November 1, 1837, and it remained in operation until 1959. Dearborn Heights was incorporated as a village on December 15, 1951. It became a city on January 1, 1965. The population had reached 10,521 by the 2000 census. As of the 2010 census, there were 12,088 residents living in Dearborn Heights proper and 2581 residents residing in its annexed areas which are located east of I-696 and south of Woodward Avenue between Brush Park Road and Harper Road
