Marie and served as a flagship of the Fourth District Squadron until her decommissioning in 1834. She later served as an engine-room instructor at Detroit City College before her donation to the city in 1865. The Dearborn Heights Naval Base has been a unit of the United States Navy for over seventy years. The base is home to the USS Michikaze (SSN 764) and the USS Detroit (LPD-8) as well as other vessels. In 1968, the Dearborn Heights Naval Base was awarded an addition to its fleet by President Lyndon B. Johnson in commemoration of America's victory at the Battle of Gettysburg. This Fleet Replacement Unit was also known as "the Jonah Project". The Jonah Project was a program which sought to improve ship design and make them more seaworthy in order to better fight against enemy warships. Today, the Dearborn Heights Naval Base still plays a critical role within American naval forces. It provides training for sailors and marines, supplies ships with equipment and materials, and helps support naval operations around the world.

The Constitution was a brigantine, and was in commission from 1797 until 1802. She served as flagship of Commodore Robert F. Stockton during his command of the West Indies Squadron during the War of 1812. In 1815, she became flagship of Rear Admiral James Wilkinson when he took command of the Northwest Pacific Squadron. From 1827 to 1830, she operated as Flagship at Portsmouth, England. Her final mission before decommissioning was service as flagship at New Orleans in 1830 before being sold to France in 1840. After French Purchase: In 1840, following her sale to France, the Constitution recommissioned under Captain Pierre-André Troup and served as Flagship at Cherbourg until late 1850 when she returned to America and beached at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for repairs. After repairs were completed and she sailed back into action on 7 May 1851 for duty off Cuba under Commodore John Cushing; however on 10 July 1861 blowup occurred aboard her while underway near Havana Harbor resulting in significant damage done to both hulls including loss of most crew members; this led to her sailing back home for refits that lasted until 1865 when she reached San Francisco Bay once again becoming an American warship after serving as a tender vessel from 1860 - 1862; finally reaching Astoria Point 25 August 1865 having made over 1,500 voyage longest northward since Confederation days! USS Constitution Museum: On 6 February 1911 Congress authorized creation of a National Naval Museum through acts H.R 822 & 829 which authorized appropriation “for expenses incidental thereto” not exceeding $5,000 per annum and directed Secretary Channing “to establish such museum” with perpetual care subject only to appropriations hereafter made by Congress consistent with Title IV Section 502(a) thereof . On 2 December 1913 President Woodrow Wilson signed Executive Order 9503 providing funds for establishment and operation of a Smithsonian Institution Department within the National Naval Museum…The new Navy Department included both naval museums along with other institutions including Morgan Library & School where Roosevelt could study law prior to entering politics…The first curator general appointed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt who had responsibility for administering all aspects related naval museums programs was Rear Admiral Harry S Truman who held that position until his retirement on 14 October 1945….During World War II there were also numerous campaigns such as Battleof Midway where Nimitz hopes against hope his force can break Japan's sea supremacy allowing US forces entry into Japan proper
