The Cadillac Coast Guard Museum is a museum located in Cadillac, Michigan that preserves the history of the Cadillac Coast Guard. The museum was founded in 1978 by Capt. Donald J. Ziegler and has since grown to include a collection of antique firearms, maritime artifacts, and memorabilia from both the Cadillac Coast Guard and other law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. The Cadillac Coast Guard Museum is open daily 9am-5pm except Thanksgiving Day (12pm-3pm). Admission is free for all visitors. There is no lunchtime or evening admission; however, there are many discounts available for those who bring their own food. The Museum offers a variety of programs including exhibits on local marine life and history,ship models and demonstrations of coastal security measures, as well as tours of the museum's archives which document the history of both the coast guard and local law enforcement agencies in Michigan.

Cadillac Coast Guard Gift History began in 1951 with the donation of a Corvette to the department. From that point on, every Corvette donated by Cadillac residents was given to the Coast Guard. In 1978, the gifts of two helicopters gave way to four helicopters and in 1992, a jetboat was gifted to the Coast Guard. In 2006, a patrol boat was gifted to the Coast Guard and in 2013, an iPad was donated for use by officers on duty. Now in its seventh year, the Cadillac Coast Guard gift history is reflective of Cadillac's proud history as home to one of America's most powerful fleets of maritime law enforcement professionals.
Cadillac is a city in Wayne County, Michigan, United States. The population was 497 at the 2010 census. Cadillac is the primary commercial and industrial center of Wayne County. It is also home to Wayne State University. Cadillac was founded by French Canadians in 1817 as "Aigle-sur-Mer". The name originated from an eagle that had been sighted on the property in 1814. Cadillac was incorporated as a borough in 1835 and became a city in 1907. In 1960, it merged with its neighbouring municipality of Royal Oak to form the present-day city of Cadillac androyal Oak. The first post office for Cadillac was established on July 10, 1836, by Alexander Armstrong with the name "Dagny." A second post office called "Anchorage" was established on December 4, 1840 by Jens Christensen with the same name. In 1865, John Prentice opened a general store at corner Main Street andOak Street which became one of Cadillac's most important businesses until his death in 1928. In 1870s and 1880s Cadillac experienced rapid growth due to its position as an important transportation hub between Detroit and other southern states such as Alabama and Mississippi (the so-called Southern Union Railroad). By 1890 there were more than 100 dwellings within downtown limits while production of automobiles reached 20 cars per day across all divisions including bodybuilding plant EMI America In 1903 GM introduced their original Cadillacs which quickly became popular among wealthy Americans during this time period for their luxury lifestyle which included large mansions along Woodward Avenue east of downtown known as The Gilded Age . throughout these years production AtGM shifted from small engine production into larger assembly plants allowing them to stay competitive even after World War I .Production ended at Ann Arbor Assembly Plant near Dearborn Heights due to lack of demand for Cadillacs during this era but new facilities were built at Auburn Hills Assembly Plant near Youngstown , Ohio beginning production of V8 engines starting in 1948 followed by C6 models in 1957 still producing today
The Coast Guard has been around since the early 1900s. It was first established as a militia to help protect the coastline and waterways. The Coast Guard is today one of the most important organizations on Earth, responsible for providing security along our coasts, waters and airspace. In 1937, the Coast Guard became a statutory body with its own budget and headquarters in New York City. This gave rise to complaints from other agencies that were not treated fairly by the government. In response, Congress passed legislation creating an independent commission which would research ways to improve relationships between different agencies. The commission report recommended that the Coast Guard be made a separate agency within the government and receive its own budget. In 1951, President Harry S Truman signed into law The Law of The Sea Act which gave the Coast Guard exclusive jurisdiction over all coastal waters within 12 miles of any shoreline in America. This allowed for more effective enforcement of maritime laws and saved lives when vessels ran into trouble nearshore. Today, the Coast Guard plays an important role in protecting both publicsafety and national interests both at home and abroad. They play a vital role inellaborating with other agencies to responds to emergencies such as hurricanes or earthquakes; working closely with law enforcement; providing humanitarian assistance; helping keep our oceans clean;and responding to every possible kind of smuggling attempt!

The city has also produced many top athletes including NBA players Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Julius Erving, MLB players Reggie Jackson and Bobby Cox, NHL player Denis Potvin, Indy 500 drivers Johnny Rutherford (1921) and Ken Keltner (1973), etc.
Cadillac was founded in 1892 by Andrew Cadillac and his brother Maurice. The original car was a three-wheeled vehicle that could seat four people. In 1906, Andrew Cadillac and Maurice developed the first production gasoline-powered car in America. This car became known as the "Cadillac Type C" because it had a V8 engine and was able to travel at speeds of up to 60 mph. By 1911, Cadillac had opened its second dealership in Detroit, Michigan. The company continued to develop new products, such as theType E (1914), which featured an all-steel frame and independent suspension. In 1925, Cadillac introduced its first sports car – the "Coral King." This car was designed by Gordon Murray and featured a 350 horsepower engine and high-performance tires. In 1930, Cadillac produced its first luxury sedan – the "Bel air." This vehicle contained features such as leather seats, woodwork, chrome accents,andeliers,and marble flooring. The company also produced motorcycles (including the Harley Davidson) and boats (including the yacht Bel Air).
