The airplane served as a commuter transport for local residents until its retirement in 1988. In 1984, it was announced that the United States Air Force had gifted an additional Boeing 727 jet airliner to Auburn Hills. This aircraft is now used as an office facility for Headquarters Allied Forces Europe (HAFE).
Auburn Hills is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the seat of Oakland County. The population was 146,811 as of 2010, making it the third-largest city in Oakland County after Detroit and Ann Arbor. It is also the second most populous city in Wayne County after Detroit. Auburn Hills was first settled by German immigrants in 1824. The name "Auburn" was chosen because of its resemblance to an Auburn tree that grew near the town's original site. In 1868, local landowner George Sanger donated land for a public square in what is now downtown Auburn Hills. This central square became known as Sanger Park before being renamed University Square following the opening of Western Michigan University there in 1893. The City of Auburn Hills annexed other villages within its boundaries on November 1, 1957: East Bloomfield Township on January 1, 1959; Dearborn Heights on July 1, 1960; Southfield on December 6, 1962; and Westland Township on December 12, 1966). The City of Auburn Hills has generated much debate over its annexation policies with some residents arguing that it deprives their villages of important services while others believe that these annexations are necessary for economic development reasons alone In spite of this polarized sentiment among residents about annexation policies overall, all five communities have agreed to merge into one municipality under new leadership and governance beginning with 7/1/2018 through 7/31/2021

Some examples of USAF gift history include: -The first major gift ever given to USAAF came in 1948 when General Hoyt Sinek donated a Boeing 707 jet fighter aircraft to be used by Air Forces Europe in support of NATO operations against Warsaw Pact nations. -Since then, RAF/AFC/AAF have each received at least one significant gift from a military member or official within USAAF. -In 2002, after more than 50 years of continuous service and over 570 million pounds (229 million kg) worth of planes and missiles delivered to American airspace, AF bestowed upon RFC units ‘the new look’ Cessna 182 Skyhawk fighter jets which were retired from active duty service between 1990 and 1993 due to budget cuts at that time only being able to be replaced by piston powered aircraft so massive had they stayed in use! USAF has also created several unique gifting opportunities throughout its history including: displays at Air Force Museums across America; sending Aircraft Parts Kits directly to squadron commanders all across America; providing free firearms training courses worldwide exclusively for law enforcement officers; conducting annual Donations For Christmas charity drives benefiting local non-profit organizations;[1] participating in various military flyovers during Special Olympics events;[2] presenting Academy Awards annually along with other top honors bestowed upon USAAF members like Distinguished Flying Crosses (DFCs), Legion d'honneur (LHDs), etc.;[3][4]etc.]

Auburn Hills is a small city in the Michigan town of Auburn Hills, just north of Detroit. The population was 20,824 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Wayne County metropolitan area. The first white people to live here were John Ladd and his wife, Ann (née White). They started a small farm on the east side of town in 1837. In 1838, they moved to what is now the old village site and began to build their house which still stands today. John Ladd's son-in-law, James McNaught built a large brick building on Main Street in 1839 which served as the courthouse from 1840 until it burned down in 1863. In 1850, Augustus Kelley set up shop here as one of the first merchants in Auburn Hills. He operated a grocery store and dry goods store before moving to his current location on Woodward Avenue in 1865. The McNaught family continued running their business until 1911 when it merged with Denny's restaurant chain to become Denny's/Fenway Park Restaurants Incorporated (the predecessor company to Rockwood Mall Properties Trust). The McNaught name was later dropped from these businesses starting around that time because many families had multiple ownership changes throughout its history including through acquisitions by other companies such as Quaker Oats and United Dairy Holdings .
In 1892, a group of investors led by Alexander Graham Bell traveled to Auburn Hills and bought the abandoned village for $10,000. The village was built on what is now the corner of north Michigan State Road 8 and east International Drive. In 1893, Auburn Hills became a town. It had a population of around 100 people. The first post office was opened in 1897. In 1901, the first Congregational church was built in Auburn Hills. The first school was built in 1907 and it was called the "Auburn School." In 1916, the first Chevrolet dealership opened in Auburn Hills.
