The business grew rapidly and by 1948 it had become one of the largest commercial coffee roasters in the United States. In 1959, the company moved to its current location on Higgins Road in Alpena. Today, artisan coffee is a popular beverage throughout Michigan and across North America.
Alpena is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, population 164,595 as of 2010. The city is the county seat of Alpena County and was founded on June 3, 1837 by George W. Snyder and his brother-in-law Dr. Elijah Bouchard. The first post office was in present day Alpena and opened on July 1, 1837. In 1865, the town became a city when it annexed the neighboring village of Eastpointe. The merger cost $2 million dollars and was controversial because residents in Alpena were not given an equal voice in the merger vote while residents in Eastpointe were given an equal voice in the annexation vote. The city's economy has been based largely on manufacturing since its establishment; many products include aluminum cans, steel tubing, agricultural equipment and cars such as pickups and SUVs. However recent years have seen some growth within the service sector with businesses like First Michigan Credit Union moving into downtown Alpena to serve the growing population (along with new development). Alpena features a variety of cultural attractions including three museums - The Walters Art Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts & Eastern Market - as well as several theaters including various fringe Festivals throughout year (most notably "Festival Fringe" which takes place annually at Ford Field during NFL games). Additionally there are numerous parks located throughout downtown which offer public Recreation opportunities for citizens as well as dog walking/playing areas perfect for 4-year olds!

In 1784, a Dutchman named Cornelis Janszoon de la Rue introduced brewed coffee to Londoners with his new French press. Sometime around 1824, Englishman John Amos Combe became the first person to produce quality beans commercially fromira (coffee ground from whole beans). From this point on, artisan coffee began becoming more prevalent throughout Europe and North America. By 1830, café culture had emerged in Parisian streets and cafés were becoming known as centers for arts and commerce. This period also saw the beginning of the French Roasting Industry which would later become well-known across the globe. During World War II, many small-scale roasters were forced out of business due to rationing; however, few artifacts remain that document this time period specifically. After World War II, many small-scale roasters returned to business but went through several transitions: they may have been converted into cafes or reopened as individual stores selling pre-packaged products such as chamomile tea or Indonesian teas; but most evidence suggests that these roasters passed away without leaving any legacy behind other than their nameplates on doorsteps or cups in local convenience stores today. Alpena, Michigan is a small town in the U.S. state of Michigan that is located on the east side of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, between Saginaw and Escanaba. The population was 2,752 at the 2010 census. The name "Alpena" comes from Alpaca, an animal mentioned by Rasmuson in 1621. The first white person to permanently reside in Alpena was Captain George Vancouver who landed there on May 10, 1796 while exploring British Columbia's coast with his ship Discovery. He named the bay after his birthplace - Alpujarras - in Aragon, Spain where he had been born on October 15th, 1700. In 1824 Nicholas Henson set up a gristmill and post office here which remain in operation to this day. In 1836 John Prentice established a sawmill and store here which remains active today as Prentice's Mill & Store LLC. In 1886 J J Duffy opened what became known as Duffy's Brewery (later renamed Detroit Brewing Company). It was one of the earliest breweries in America and until 1917 it brewed some of America's most famous brands such as 3M and Ford Friction Tyres
Alpena was founded in 1837 by John A. Richardson as a small trading post on the Muskegon River. The town grew rapidly during the 1840s and 1850s, becoming one of the largest and most important towns in Michigan. In 1857, Alpena became a city, and its first mayor was George H. Gallup. The city experienced rapid growth during the 1860s and 1870s, thanks to an influx of new residents and businesses from neighboring cities such as Detroit and Grand Rapids. By 1881, Alpena had become one of the largest cities in Michigan, with a population of over 100,000 people. During the late 19th century and into the early 20th century, Alpena experienced significant economic development; it became one of the leading industrial centers in Michigan. In 1916, Alpena merged with neighboring city of Milan to form what is now known as Dearborn County.
