It was in Allen Park, Michigan that the first coffeehouses were founded. The first coffee house in this city was the Starbuck's Coffee House, which opened on December 12, 1824. It is said that John H.Starbuck and his brother-in-law, Nathan Phillips started this business as a way to provide employment for their father-in-law who had lost his job due to the Panic of 1837. The popularity of coffee spread quickly through out Michigan and soon it became an important part of the local economy. By 1830, there were at least five different coffee houses in Allen Park alone. Eventually these businesses merged into one another and eventually became known as Starbucks Corporation. This company has been responsible for launching many successful products such as Dunkin' Donuts and Caribou Coffee. Today,Allen Park is home to several Starbucks locations including one located on Gratiot Avenue just outside of the city limits

Allen Park is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Oakland County. The population was 96,711 at the 2010 census, making it the second-most populous city in Oakland County after Troy. The area that now makes up Allen Park was first settled by French colonists in 1798 as part of the Township of Allegany on the east side of present-day Detroit. The original name for Orchard Road Company was "The RoyalRoad." In 1847, when bothOakland County and Wayne County were created from parts of federal territory including most of what is now Michigan, Allen Park came under control from Wayne County. It remained an agricultural town until after World War II when industrial development began to take hold in nearby communities such as Troy and Warrenston along I-696 and I-75 east of metropolitanDetroit; these developments led to rapid growth inAllen Park over time – from 15,000 people in 1940 to more than 50,000 people by 1960.' Thereafter it slowly reverted back to its rural roots with few major changes until recent years when transformation has begun again due to technological advances including digital media jobs downtown while still keeping much farmland near downtown for growing crops or housing developments; this change has led to a dramatic increase in traffic congestion around town center while also resulting in some loss/reduction in property values associated with suburbanization.' At the time of his death at age 54 years old, Custer had become one of the highest-ranking U.S. officers to die in combat since World War II. The population of Allen Park declined from its peak during the late 1960s through 1970s due to various factors including suburbanization and loss of job opportunities within the local community government; however, it has since begun to rebound with new development and a growing number of residents working in downtown Detroit or other nearby municipalities such as Royal Oak and Livonia
