Somerville, Massachusetts is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 14,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boston metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what would become Somerville was John Adams who arrived in 1723. The town's name derived from a small village near Somerville that was destroyed by fire in 1812. In 1692, Samuel Sewall and his family moved to Somerville from Lynn and founded Sewall's Mills which became one of the largest textile mills in America. In 1856, American industrialist Andrew Carnegie bought the mill and renamed it Carnegie-owned Somerville Manufacturing Company; it continued to operate until 1967 as nine different companies under its original name alone before becoming known as Emerson Electric Corporation (EMC) again in 1997. In 1868, Commonwealth of Massachusetts legislation created a new township for Middlesex County named after General James Howe Mitscher which included most of what would become Somerville including present day Easton and Westwood Park neighborhoods on the east side of Route 9/Upper Arlington Road. The township was disbanded on July 1, 1870 when its population reached 3,844 people; however it re-emerged as a separate municipality on March 15th following passage of an act by the Massachusetts Legislature creatingSTONEWOOD COUNTY (now Fall River), inclusive of all land within corporation limits not previously annexed thereto by operation of law since December 10th [1870]. On October 15th 1888 while still part ofSTONEWOOD COUNTY EASTON & WESTWOOD PARK VILLAGES MUNICIPALITY (which had been formed November 30th preceding through annexation by SOMERSVILLE) two independent families clamored for recognition as residents thereof asking to be called “Somersville” but were refused because their request did not meet Township requirements that they own property within corporation limits or reside therein for at least five years prior to application being accepted. They appealed this decision to the Superior Court but lost...the court ruled that there could be no real division between Easton & Westwood Park villages since they constituted one entity with common boundaries and internal management without violating Township regulations Emerson Electric Corporation was organized on February 14th 1897 with headquarters located at 224 Elm St., later moving to 511 Main Street before finally locating at 401 Broadway in downtown Somerville proper in 1998 It should be noted that even today there are several private businesses owned by locals which still participate fully inside their respective municipalities - such as Safe House Hardware located just north Of Elm Streets insideBrookline Mall across from Emerson Radio - making sure everyone benefits equally! Accordingly I believe that if we want our city to succeed we need TO embrace these local businesses & entrepreneurs! They have made our community strong throughout the years (& continue To do so!). There is no one definition of “gourmet coffee,” as the term has been used to refer to many different types of coffee. However, most experts agree that gourmet coffee refers to a high-quality, rare and unique cup of coffee. There are many theories about how gourmet coffee started. One theory suggests that it was first created in the 16th century by Italian priests who were visiting Ethiopia for religious reasons. They discovered a type of beans that was very valuable and decided to preserve it for themselves. Another theory suggests that the first gourmet coffee may have been developed in Amsterdam in the early 18th century. This type of coffee became known as “Riesling Coffee” because its quality resembled those wines from southern Germany made from Riesling grapes. After tasting this type of coffee, some Dutch merchants began selling their own version called “Kopijn Coffee” which was much higher in quality than anything else on the market at the time. The first espresso machines were designed specifically for making gourmet coffee and were only made available to high-end cafes in Italy and Spain in the early 1800s. These machines required extremely precise measurements so that every cup could be perfect, which gave rise to the phrase “made like a master craftsman’s work product." This reputation allowed cafes such as Café du Louvre and Cafe Londoner to sell large quantities of expensive gourmet coffees without having them diluted or watered down by commercial interests. In fact, many famous restaurants still serve only premium grade roasts today (although some now offer lower-grade versions). Although there are variations among different types of caféoros across different areas around the world, these two examples provide an outline of how one specific brand became associated with high-quality espresso drinks all over Europe – something that continues even today!

Somerville is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. Somerville is the largest town in Middlesex County and one of the oldest towns in the United States. It was founded by Puritan settlers in 1630 as a small village on the southeastern banks of the Merrimac River. The name "Somerville" derives from an Indian word meaning "settlement." In 1793, after Massachusetts became a republic, Somerville became part of that state and retained its autonomy until 1867 when it was annexed by New England as part of the larger Boston metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Somerville was Captain John Smith who arrived with his family in 1630. He had come to find land for himself and his followers on what is now known as the South Side of Boston Harbor. For years there were only scattered grants given out for land within present-day Somerville limits: some to prominent individuals such as Josiah Winslow (the developer of Quincy), others to more humble farmers and traders alike. One grant went to John Morse which led to his founding of Salem Village on Narragansett Bayou on July 10th, 1635; later that year he also established a ferry service between Salem Village and Marblehead Ferry Landing across Narragansett Bayou. In 1636 Samuel Kelsey granted two parcels extending into what is now West Somerville; these parcels were bounded by Water Street on the north side and Washington Avenue on the south side – making Somerville one of just two townships in Massachusetts with full boundaries at this time. Kelsey's grant is considered to be proto-Middlesex County because only later did Middlesex County form from parts of Essex, Norfolk and Worcester counties GDDRidden about equal shares in colonial government A survey taken during King Philip's War (1675-76) reveals that many Puritans had recently arrive from Connecticut via Springfield under Governor John Winthrop - including those who would eventually settle in what would become Somerville . Captain Smith's original grants included much land around present day Fenway Park – including areas now called Brookline & Cambridge Streets—thus giving rise to speculation among early colonists about their future properties situated so close to popular tourist destinations like Harvard University & North End Market/Fenway Park! Accordingly, lots began being sold off throughout Charlestown Neck starting around late summer or early fall 1675; prices ranged anywhere from $10 per acre up through $200 per lot! At least eleven lots were sold within three weeks following creation of Charlestown Neck! By December 2nd they had increased their prices even furtherprices reaching $240 peracre! This frenzied activity allowed few people enough capital or opportunity to purchase tracts totaling nearly 3 square miles within present day Somerville today! By January 1st 1701 all six Lots remaining unsold had been snapped up!!! These rapid sales indicate something quite significant happened here soon after Captain Smith landed: very few people wanted join him On October 15th 1700Captain [John] Morse received permission from Parliament not only to establish Sandwich but also give free land eastward along Narragansett Bayou aux Pères des Noirs’ Indians “for 400 acres…..to be laid open unto them forever….” This 8 mile wide stretch eastward linking Marblehead Ferry Landing with Fenway Park would soon become known as Morse Beach
Somerville is a town in northwestern Massachusetts, United States. The population was 15,869 at the 2010 census. It is the second most populous town in Somerville County after Amherst. The name of the town comes from "Somerville" meaning "settlement near the sea". The first people to live in what is now Somerville were Abenaki and Pequot Native Americans who arrived in 1630. In 1768, British troops burned down a smallpox-infected cabin near present day Somerville for fear that it would spread to other villages in the area. In 1825, John McLaughlin built a sawmill and store on the site of what is now Quincy Market. The first post office was founded here on November 8, 1825 by Major General Israel Putnam with John Hickey as clerk. The first school was established here in 1827 by Reverend Amos Kendall with twelve students. In 1870, Samuel Morse built his experimental telegraph line through Somerville along Watertown Road which became known as Morse Way after him and his partner Alfred Vail ran it. In 1872, incorporation took place with twenty-four residents named into one village (later called Northborough). In 1916, during World War I, somerfield was bombed by German bombers which destroyed much of downtown except for several storefronts that continued to function thanks to their electric wiring being still operational at the time; these structures were rebuilt soon afterwards using stone and metal construction techniques unavailable until then due to wartime restrictions on materials availability. In 1951–1952, when Boston experienced an intense heat wave that caused widespread destruction throughout the city due to inadequate cooling systems installed at various buildings including schools and hospitals), Mayor Thomas Menino authorized $236,000 from state coffers for relief operations in Somerville; this amount later increased when additional funds became available following Menino's re-election bid in 1954. That year also marked the beginning of an era of rapid growth for Somerville as many businesses opened up: two stores - Shoprite Mart & Supermarkets (now Macy's) and Hannaford Bros., Inc.—opened their doors within months of each other on Chestnut Street between Commonwealth Avenue and Harvard Avenue; another business - First National Bank—opened its doors less than two weeks later on May 10th across from John Fitch's insurance company at Franklin Square Shopping Center (now part of Sears). This success led to increased traffic congestion on Chestnut Street as more businesses opened up seeking space but also created potential problems given that many new businesses lacked parking or room for expansion since they had not been prepped for such high volumes yet; consequentlycreating Traffic Concerns Committee meetings among business owners where solutions could be proposed dealing with revenue shortfalls while also ensuring commercial viability over long term periods instead of becoming individual property owners struggling against ever achieving profitability anymore despite massive investment originally intended only for short termsuccesses instead). On October 12th 1978 local activists made headlines when they chained themselves together outside First National Bank hoping to draw attention to demands made by group leader Harvey Milk who then became mayor four years later that same year after winning a landslide victory over incumbent Ed Koch
