In 1795, a Dutchman named Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press and this led to the birth of journalism and literature. Coffee was also used as an ingredient in medicines and flavorings until it became a non-essential part of many modern foods in the late 1800s. One Salem resident, Mrs. John A. Richards, started purchasing coffee beans from Ethiopian merchants in 1892. She soon realized that there were not enough local roasters to satisfy her needs for quality coffee beans, so she founded Richards Coffee Company with two other women in 1916. Richards’ goal was to provide customers with fresh roasted beans at fair prices while supporting small businesses throughout the city. In 1971, Mr. Harry Shaefer began buying and selling coffee at his shop on Massachusetts Avenue near Forest Hills Cemetery; he is considered one of Salem’s earliest entrepreneurs who brought about a new era of specialty coffee retailing hereabouts. Since then, our store has become one of central Salem’s most popular tourist destinations – both because we offer great cups of Joe every day! Salem, Massachusetts is a town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 7,835 at the 2010 census. The town center is home to the Salem Witch Trials Museum and Research Center. It was settled in 1692 by Puritans who were fleeing religious persecution in England. The first known mention of Salem takes place on April 14, 1692 when Caleb Winslow wrote to his brother John about seeing "a great company of wicked women" coming down the road from Ipswich. By early 1701, there were over 100 residents living in Salem and growing increasingly suspicious of one another. On October 15, 1701, an attack on the house of William Bradford occurred where seven people - including three women - were killed with a firebrand before being taken into custody by local militia led by Captain John Eliot. Bradford escaped with only minor injuries and was never charged with any crime related to the events that took place that day. In 1702-1703 European settlers began arriving in what is now Essex County and began building homes near what would later become Salem witch trials site (now part of present-day Quincy). In response to this new population and development, locals started to become more paranoid and their belief system developed around a mysterious group called The Illuminati which they claimed possessed magical powers. On December 12th, 1702 two Dutchmen named Hendrick Andriesen and Abraham Janssen came ashore onshore from their ship Achilleus Loaded with goods destined for New York City when they noticed five or six people walking towards them wearing masks made from animal skin stretched tightly around their faces like masks worn during plays or carnival performances. Soon enough it became clear that these individuals were not simply passersby but rather some sort of secret cult headed by Satan himself! That same day members of the town's governing body – called the select committee – met under suspicion of being part of this Satanic group because they had not been seen emerging from church all morning (nor did anyone know where they could be found) despite having authority over local affairs! After dinner that night several men armed with pistols surrounded the committee's meeting place as soon as it entered; once inside several men took aim at those who had preceded them while ordering everyone else out into the streets until just two men remained standing behind barricades covered in barrels! This event becomes known as The Night Of Terror which ended without any fatalities thanks to quick thinking by select committee members Samuel Adams et al who emerged victorious without getting caught! A few days after this incident public outcry led authorities finally arrested 25 citizens including 3 women for secretly owning firearms and conspiring against government authorities; these charges would later be used against others during The Witch Trials era. During her trial Martha Ruddock admitted solicitation sexual relationships with three male apprentices she had employed as maids however protested her innocence until after deathbed stating "I am innocent I do protest". As a result all nine accusers will receive life imprisonment instead receiving only 5 years hard labor each although all 10 defendants eventually die before appealing their sentences due to poor health conditions caused by exposure to arsenic during their incarceration . Salem continued experiencing sporadic outbreaks of witchcraft throughout most of the late 18th century but eventually died out due largely to social changes such as Enlightenment ideals which led people away from superstitious beliefs towards scientific inquiry

The town’s economy boomed during the 18th century; it produced heavy crops such as wheat, corn, and pork but also developed an important trade with India and other parts of Asia. Many leading figures in Salem’s history were born or raised here: John Adams (leader of the United States), Benjamin Franklin (founder of Philadelphia), Oliver Cromwell (king of England), James K.
