This was followed by a gift from Lieutenant Isaac Allston in 1805. A few years later, Captain George Fitch donated two vessels- Thetis and Minerva- to Revere as well. These donations helped create a maritime community in which people could trade goods with sailors from all over the world. In 1812, Reverend Samuel Eliot gave a ship, Thespis, to Revere. This vessel was used for fishing and harvests in the area until it was destroyed by fire in 1814. On July 3rd, 1827, Elisha Hutchinson donated an oil tanker called Success to Revere. This ship would be used for carrying oil products from Boston to Revere and other towns in Massachusetts Bay. In 1888, Mrs. Augustus Smeaton donated a small steamship called Nantucket IItoRevere after her son Augustus Smeaton had been elected Mayor of Nantucket Island during that year’s election campaign (the first time this had ever happened). This ship served as a regular passenger liner between Portsmouth and Boston until World War I when it was replaced by the larger SS America . After World War I ended there were no more ships using this line so the boat became derelict until she was finally sold at auction and broken up in 1965

Revere is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 5,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boston– Worcester–Fallon, MA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to set foot in Revere were the French and Indian War veteran and trader Joseph Warren who landed on December 28, 1775, in what is now downtown Revere. In 1776, General Edward Cornwallis's British army invaded America and captured Cambridge (now Quincy) after a series of battles that month. Cornwallis then advanced southward through New England and crossed the border into Pennsylvania on January 14, 1777. Aftermath of the siege of Boston led to word that General George Washington had landed at Newport News near Portsmouth on January 19th with 7division under his command to lead an assault on Yorktown that failed due to unfavorable weather conditions; this event would be known as "the Battle of Monmouth". In 1801 Revere voted by popular vote to become a town. The Unitarian Reverend Amos Kendall served as its first mayor from 1800-1802. A post office called "Revere" was established in 1807 but it was discontinued in 1828 because there were already too many towns in Plymouth County with that name. The present spelling began appearing on deeds filed during 1830-1836 when Gideon Granger became reeve over all the towns except for Revere which he personally chose for its unique pronunciation (rhymes with 'ver') rather than adopt one specific pronunciation like most other towns in Plymouth County. A number of important events took place during early years of Revere's history: On October 11th, 1812 two vessels carrying passengers sank off Cape Cod while en route between Wareham and Provincetown; both crew members survived but only one passenger made it back home alive On November 26th 1814 a group of men refused leave from their captain to attend Mass at Lynnhaven; they were arrested and brought before Judge Winthrop who fined them $5 each On December 3rd 1840 three men walking their dog discovered human remains washed up on Beach Road just outside town limits; however until 1889 no arrests or investigations took place as no charges were ever filed In 1861 local farmer James Wigglesworth founded what would become known as Wigglesworth’s Market & Creamery which quickly became one of the most important businesses in town On April 20th 1865 – just days before Abraham Lincoln was assassinated – Confederate soldiers burned down several buildings including the old Congregational church located across from Wigglesworth’s Market
Revere, Massachusetts was founded in 1692 by John Newbury. He built the first Indian trading post on the Mystic River in what is now Revere. The town grew quickly and by 1775 it had a population of over 1,000. In 1776, during the American Revolution, Revere aided Patriot forces by providing food and munitions to their fight against British troops. In 1847, Revere became a city and was renamed after its founder.
