The Peabody National Guard was organized on November 17, 1864. The first members of the guard were recruited from the towns of Quincy, Framingham, Brockton and other villages in Massachusetts. The Peabody National Guard has served in a variety of capacities since its establishment. From 1861 to 1865, it served as a military garrison for Fort Totten in New York City; from 1865 to 1868 it guarded the White House as part of the Ulysses S. Grant administration. From 1871 to 1875 it operated as a militia unit at Wilmington, Delaware; and from 1875 to 1898 it patrolled the harbor at Plymouth Harbor, Massachusetts. In 1898 the United States national guard disbanded and Peabody became an incorporated town with its own police department
Peabody is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 5,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Worcester–Boston metropolitan area. The first settlers in Peabody were John Peabody and his wife Martha (née White) who came from Ipswich, Suffolk, England in 1635 and settled on a farmstead known as "Fenway" near modern-day Peabody Center. The early industry of the town was agriculture with raising hay, cows, pigs and poultry; however during the late 19th century Peabody began to become an important textile manufacturing center for Boston. In 1876 English manufacturer J.M Dent & Sons founded their first factory in what is now downtown Peabody; it produced hats and scarves until 1916 when production shifted to China In 1892 Charles Fenton bought "Fenway" from John Peabody for $10,000 and began developing it into one of the most prestigious residential neighborhoods in Boston. He named it after his mother's birthplace – Portsmouth, Hampshire – which he had visited while living there as a boy. Fenway quickly became known as one of Boston's wealthiest areas with homes costing up to $200 per square foot ( approximately €115 at current prices). Today much of this neighborhood remains highly exclusive but some sections have been renovated or repurposed as luxury apartments or office buildings

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed into law An act designating November 25th as Thanksgiving Day in order to commemorate America’s military service in World War I. Since its inception, the National Guard has played an important role in American history. It has been mobilized on multiple occasions, including when riots broke out following Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination; when New Orleans was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina; and when thousands turned out to support John F Kennedy during his presidential campaign in 1960. Today, members from all over America serve their country with distinction through units such as Army Rangers, Air National Guardsmen, Marine Corps Seabees and Coast Guard Cutter Crewman- hearkening back to times long gone when men were called upon to defend our way of life against all sorts of threats both domestic and international.

Peabody, Massachusetts is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 5,552 at the 2010 census. Peabody is part of the Boston metropolitan area. The first permanent European settlers in what became Peabody were French Canadians who came to that part of Plymouth Colony in 1636. They founded the town of Acadia on Cape Cod and named it after themselves—after Edward Cornwallis, 1st Earl of Essex (1553-1626), one of the leaders of the English Bacon Rebellion against Queen Elizabeth I. That first group numbered only 10 people and their families; by 1764 there were over 1,000 colonists living there. In 1692 Samuel Adams started a textile mill in Peabody which continued until 1857 when it closed because of technological advances and cheaper production from mills in New England. In 1795 Nicholas Ray built his famous film studio at 4 Beacon Street which does still exist today as an art museum with more than 150 pieces by Ray on display including his early films " scrimshawing" (graphing natural patterns with a scalpel) for use on ship hulls). In 1834 Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote "The Marble Fable" at a summer farmhouse near Walden Pond while he was studying law at Harvard University; this novel's setting inspired him to move to nearby Concord later that year and begin writing " Concord." In 1886 Charles Sumner became the first U.S senator from Massachusetts when he won election to succeed John Quincy Adams; he represented Massachusetts until 1887 when he resigned due to differences with President Grover Cleveland over tariffs issue. On March 15th 1903 Quincy Embury became America's first ambassador to Russia under president Theodore Roosevelt where he met Russian tsar Nicholas II and had many meetings during his stay including one with Lenin where they discussed ways American diplomats could be helpful during World War I Aftermath of Boston Marathon bombing A housing project called legacies began development near Fenway Park following the blast that killed three people and injured dozens more April 15th 2013 around 3 PM
