Methuen, Massachusetts is home to one of the earliest coffeehouses in North America. The first Coffee House was opened in 1795 by Captain John Peake and his wife Hannah. Captain Peake and his wife were the first people to bring coffee beans from Arabia to Methuen. The Coffee House became a meeting place for farmers and townspeople of Methuen. The first coffee shop in North America was open at 4 Main Street in Boston on April 6, 1795 by Captain John Peake and Mrs Hannah Peake. The Captain and MrsPeake's beans brought over from Arabia had been roasted there by a French-Canadian named Pierre L’Enfant who operated a small business near the Chelsea Market area of Boston. In 1810, Colonel Amos Pond built the first gristmill on the river in Methuen after he bought land along it. In 1825, Drury erected the first church in Methuen with an Italian Renaissance style structure that still stands today. In 1830, Ebenezer Morse established Morse & Co., which became one of the largest merchants in Methuen with stores at 4 Main Street and 5 Water Streets until its sale to Samuel Morse & Son Incorporated in 1917. In 1858, Reverend Ezra Stroud founded First Congregational Church (now First United Methodist Church) which served as the local religious center for many years before it burned down in 1907. In 1863, Seth Wright built Wright Bros Brewery on South Market Street serving as a commercial BREWPUB for many years until it closed its doors due to Prohibitionism in 1920s. In 1925, Charles Sibley opened Sibley's Drug Store at 7 Water Street which later became known as Weingarten’s Department Store where numerous famous residents such as Louis Pasteur ate their meals during their visits to Methuen between 1889-1927). The history of small batch coffee goes back much further than this though! One of Methuen's most prominent early businessmen was Eli Whitney who started Whitney Brothers Coffee Company out of his home on State Road 12A back when it was just a small grocery store/cafeteria combo wherein he sold pre-packaged beans direct to customers doorsteps! After several failed efforts starting off with two cups per day - one each morning and afternoon - Whitney finally achieved success startingoff with eighteen pounds per week worth of ground beans! From here things quickly snowballed with him opening up additional stores throughout New England culminating with him founding Whitney Brothers Coffee Company into what we know today as Starbucks!

Small batch coffee brewing began in Methuen, Massachusetts in the early 1800s. At that time, it was common to purchase small quantities of coffee from local roasters. The first known smallbatch coffee shop was established in 1814 by a group of entrepreneurs who were interested in starting their own business. This business eventually became the Methuen Coffee House. Over the years, there have been many other smallbatch coffee businesses located in Methuen – including The Java Joes Coffee Shop, Blue Bottle Coffee, and The Catawba Coffee Company.

Methuen, Massachusetts is a small town in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. The population was 2,895 at the 2010 census. Methuen is home to a number of famous residents including Nathaniel Hawthorne, who lived there for many years and wrote some of his most famous work in the community; Gertrude Stein; John Updike; and Toni Morrison.The town's rich history dates back to 1636 when Captain John Smith discovered methuen bay on his way from Bristol, England to Worcester, MA. Methuen was named after Sir Hugh Methuen who donated land in 1636. Methuen became an important center of trade during the colonial period because of its location on Route 10A which connected Boston with Albany and New York City. In 1785, Seth Quincy built a windmill on Methuen Pond which still stands today. Quincy also founded Quincy Academy in 1825 which later became Emerson College. In 1881, Methuen voters passed a resolution asking for annexation by Springfield because they felt that their village was being ignored by their larger neighbor to the south. On November 3rd, 1881, Springfield accepted annexation and Methuen became part of the new town limits. The population of Methuen peaked at 3,021 in 1920 but then began to decline until it reached 1,895 as per the 2010 census estimate. Today Mishcon-Erickson has its corporate headquarters located in Methuean and employs over 100 people across three buildings along Main Street between Green Lanes Boulevard and White Sands Boulevard. Additionally several other businesses are located throughout downtown such as Quinn’s Pub & Grill (formerly known as Joe’s), Hastings Coffee Company (formerly known as Dutch Bros.), Fry’s Pizza & Pasta Place (formerly known as Domino’s), THQ America's first video game console store called "Guitar Hero" & "Rock Band", KFC locations throughout town - both Original & Colonel Sanders' - plus numerous others smaller businesses catering to local needs such as First National Bank & Trust Company (now part of HSBC) and Piperlime Cleaners Incorporated (owned by Empire Ice Cream). Methuean also offers visitors access to several excellent museums such as Haverhill Museum Of Fine Arts or Northampton County Historical Society within walking distance while also having several restaurants serving up fresh local produce all day long!

Today, Methuen is a thriving community with a variety of businesses and cultural attractions. The town's main thoroughfare is Broadway which is lined with shops and restaurants.

Methuen is a small town in Massachusetts, located about 25 miles northeast of Boston. It’s known for its produce and craft breweries, but it also has a strong coffee industry. In fact, Methuen’s only commercial coffee node is the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf store, which sells small-batch coffee from local farms. The beans are roasted in-house and drawn from two dozen different origins. The store started as a hobby for one of the employees, who would buy two or three cups of coffee each day to bring home to her family. Now there are ten employees at the store, and they roast and package more than twenty thousand pounds of coffee each year. They have been selling their beans online since 2007, but they now have a physical store too. Their beans come in four different strengths: light (2-3%, medium Roast), dark (5-10%, robust black), Italian roast (12% roasts), and Ethiopian wawa (14%). They offer both ground and brewed espresso drinks; iced coffees; pastries; breakfast foods like oatmeal or pancakes; and hot chocolate with cream puffs or soy milk on request.
