Malden, Massachusetts is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 9,026 at the 2010 census. Malden is located on the Eastern Shore of Massachusettes and is bordered by Ipswich to the north, Quincy to the east, Worcester to the south-southwest, and Easton to the west. It has a humid subtropical climate with warm summers and cold winters. The townsite that would become Malden was first settled in 1792 by Englishman John Thornton as part of an effort to clear land for farming. The name "Malden" was derived from two Indian words meaning "place where there are figs". Thornton had been sent by General Israel Putnam to purchase land for Putnam's colony at Framingham MA. In 1802, Captain George Vancouver explored what became Malden Bay and reported back favorably about its potential as a shipping port. A group of businessman investors bought out Thornton and started developing the town around it. In 1810 they built a sawmill on present day Central Street which still stands today; this mill helped provide jobs for many people in early Malden. The first post office was established in1811; it remained in operation until 1869 when it moved to Ipswich. A gristmill was built on present day Elmira Road in 1814; this mill also remains today as a museum openTothe public (see link below). A flour mill was built on present day Congress Street in 1830; this mill also remains today as one of Malden's most iconic attractions (see link below). A railroad company purchased lots near present day Meetinghouse Square in 1838 and began construction of what would become Malden Station; the station opened on July 1st 1840. Passenger service stopped operations during World War II because of wartime aluminum production restrictions but Amtrak uses Malden Station currently (2016) as their headquarters/terminus for their Boston – New York route . An innovative new business model called e-commerce was born here when online retailer Amazon created its second campus HERE (HERE), within walking distance of both local businesses and shoppers alike! This business model continues throughout our community today with over 350 locally owned businesses who sell everything from groceries to fashion!

They were first stationed at Yorktown and then moved to Quantico in Virginia. Their first engagement was during the American Revolution when they fought alongside the British Army. Additionally, marine units have played important roles during Desert Storm (1991), Hurricane Katrina (2005), Afghanistan (2008) and Iraq (2009).

Malden, Massachusetts is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 21,857 at the 2010 census. Malden was incorporated as a town on October 1, 1824. The name of the village that developed around Malden until 1845 is still used today by Malden residents as an identifier for their community. Malden is located on the south shore of Boston Harbor and has been since its incorporation what may be called "the Gateway to Boston." It sits just east of the Hutchinson brothers' wharf which controlled access to the harbor and served as an important commercial center during its early years. The first post office in Malden opened in 1822 and closed in 1850; it was reopened in 1854 under the name North End. The first store built in town was called Woolworth's Store on King Street. A millinery shop soon followed on High Street near present-day Columbia Road before becoming a flour mill run by Elijah Pratt from 1840 to 1861 and later by his son Amos Pratt from 1861 to 1886 - one of America's first three flour mills built west of Chicago (Amos also founded waterworks here). At this time there were only a few small villages along State Route 9 north of Boston with agriculture being the primary economic activity while transportation played only a minor role
