Lynn is an unincorporated community in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. It lies on the border of Waltham and Bedford townships, and is east of Lowell. The population was 2,000 at the 2010 census. The village name Lynn may be derived from "Lon-haght", meaning "the long way." There are also theories that Lynn derives its name from a place called Lonycote in Somerset County, England; or from Long Island Sound in New York; or even from the Lenape words hanchepook (meaning "headwaters") and nahantok (meaning "oak woods"). The first settler in what would become Lynn was John Newton who arrived in 1636. Other early settlers included Samuel Pemberton (1641-1715), Nathaniel Bailey (1651-1727), Ebenezer Chandler (1660-1725), Richard Stone (1668-1728) and Moses Warren (1671-1837). Middlesexhire county was formed on January 1st 1785 by splitting off Plymouth district which had been part of Suffolk county. On July 25th 1802, as part of this reorganization, Lynn became one of the towns within Middlesex county along with Bedford and Waltham. At the time of its incorporation into Middlesex county it contained only a few homes and 300 people were living there when it did not form part of any other township. In 1882 the population had increased to 1,500 people with over $4 million worth of property valuation being assessed for taxation that year alone! At that time many farmers began to leave for urban areas such as Boston where wages were better paid and housing more plentiful. Today there is still a small town feel to Lynn with most residents working out of their homes rather than inside large factories or malls like so many other villages around America today. Some interesting things about Lynn include: The village has never experiences natural disaster such as tornado or hurricane like some other villages near Boston which have suffered greatly during these events; however due to flooding in 2007 which destroyed much property here including churches, schools etc., much damage has been done to both infrastructure as well as personal belongings including pictures etc.; furthermore since Hurricane Sandy hit last year many residents decided they would rather stay put rather then evacuate their homes which caused quite a bit traffic backup on Route 9 while everyone attempted to move back home slowly over several days

Lynn is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 5,528 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Worcester Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lynn was first settled in 1775 by English colonists as part of the Dorchester Colony. The name "Lynn" is from the Wyandot language meaning "place of Birch trees". In 1692, a post office called Lynn was established at what is now Orchard Street in what is today Lynn. In 1857, Charles Goodspeed built a house on land he purchased near present-day Main Street and Park Avenue in what are nowLynn's two downtown areas. Goodspeed named his home after his father-in-law, Sir Isaac Newton Goodspeed (1768–1851). The townspeople voted to rename their village after Goodspeed in 1887. In 1916, they changed it again to its current spelling - Lynn - due to confusion caused by neighboring towns with similar names like Belchertown and North Adams which were spelled with different initial letters. The town has seen continuous growth since its incorporation as a village in 1916; during that time it has annexed additional parcels of land until it had over 100 acres (40 hectares) of forested land within its boundaries by 1980. A large portion of Lynn's history can be found buried deep within the earth beneath its streets and sidewalks - unearthed during construction projects or when residents simply walked around their neighborhoods for lunch one day and discovered stunning fossils dating back to the Miocene epoch!
Lynn was founded by Captain John Smith in 1623. The first town meeting was held on April 26, 1624. In 1630, Capt. John Smith and his men were killed in a battle with the Indians. The town was abandoned until it was re-founded by Samuel Gridley in 1867.
