Everett, Massachusetts is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. The population was 5,541 at the 2010 census. Everett is located on the eastern edge of Plymouth County and on the border of Worcester County. It is bordered by the towns of North Attleboro to the south, Brockton to the west, Randolph to the north and east, and Middletown to the northeast. The town was first settled in 1736 by Samuel Eliot who named it after his friend and neighbor Caleb Hill. For many years this site served as a mill pond for grinding flour which was used in breadmaking and other goods sold in Boston. In 1827 Everett became part of what was then Plymouth County when it was formed from parts of Brookline, Framingham and Walthamstow counties. Everett had its start as a small farming village with just over 100 residents when it entered into commonwealth status with Plymouth Colony on April 12th 1692 following a vote by its citizens. At that time there were only four white men living in Everett; three farmers (Samuel Eliot, Jabez Boylston) and one minister (John Winthrop). The first land grant given by King George II included 640 acres (240 hectares), making Everett one of England's earliest colonial settlements outside London proper

Everett, Massachusetts is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 7,868 at the 2010 census. Everett was first settled in 1795 and incorporated as a town in 1825. It became an independent city in 1959. Everett is situated on the eastern border of Massachusetts and is bordered by Watertown to the east, Belchertown to the west, Randolph to the northwest, and North Adams to the south. The community that now makes up Everett was named for General John Quincy Adams (1775-1848), one of America's most famous political figures and its third President from 1824 until his death four years later. An early settler in what is now Everett was Captain John Lowell who left a small farm there with two teams of horses in 1795. After Colonel Joseph Warren's victory at Bunker Hill on July 4th that year, Lowell decided to move his farmstead into what would become today's Everett and name it after himself! The first real development took place around 1800 when wooden buildings were erected along present day King Street for local farmers to market their goods during winter months; these structures still remain extant today as part of the Pioneer Village Historic District. In 1825 Everett became part of Middlesex County when it was created from parts of Worcester and Framingham counties following the creation of New England statehood. In 1830 Everett had a population estimated at only 100 people but rapidly grew due largely to new transportation opportunities opening up with improved railroads coming into existence throughout New England through this time period including Boston & Worcester Railroad Company (B&W) which connected Boston with Worcester via Lynn station located just east of present day Everett on Lake Quinsigamond Pond; this line was later extended northward paralleling Indian Road all the way up through modern day Randolph where it joined MA State Route 2 just south of contemporary Everett proper; finally reaching western Middlesex County near modern day Burlington before terminating just northeast of modern day Watertown where it met MA State Route 3A continuing northerly all the way back into Connecticut! This entire process made for quite an interlocking network with various industries developing within easy proximity both geographically AND economically; something that continue’s To this day! As things changed starting around 1840 things began to change quickly too as many farms got lost amidst encroaching industry locate more than 1 mile away from any settlement making travel difficult if not impossible even for those fortunate enough to have access; also railroad traffic increased significantly making trade easier accessible especially during timesof heavy demand thus further increasing economic activity overall – something that has continued uninterrupted throughout our county’s history! By 1850 there were over 400 residents living within close vicinityOf various businesses while large mills such as Goodrich & Son located approximately 1 ½ miles away produced numerous articles & materials used by nearly every household across New England; indeed these days products made here range from high end luxury items like fine crystal wine bottles & fine china services right down to everyday objects like screwsdriver blades etc.; something truly unique about our area eh? The growth you see above wasn't simply due to some lucky happenstance however entrepreneurs stepped up & took advantageof every opportunity available just like so many others before them – nothing is ever taken for granted here folks!
