The United States Armed Forces have been deployed in various forms and locations over the years. Some of the most famous deployments include World War II, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Enduring Freedom. The latest deployment is to Afghanistan as part of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). Since its inception, the U.S. Army has offered gifts to its troops in various ways. Everett, Massachusetts is a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 23,546 at the 2010 census. Everett is the largest settlement in Hampshire County and the second-largest municipality within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts after Boston. The town is named for Rear Admiral George Everett of the United States Navy (1847–1912), who served as Commandant of HMCS Vincennes from 1907 to 1912 and as Superintendent of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard from 1910 to 1912. At one time, Everett was home to more than 1,500 residents and included areas such as Everett Common (now part ofBoston) and Everett Beach. In 1795, General John Adams founded a small military post called Fort Pitt on land that now forms parts of Everett. Founded by Captain John Brown in 1636 during King Philip's War, Providence Plantations was among the earliest English settlements in New England. On July 4th 1638, Captain John Smith discovered what would become known as Providence Plantations when he landed on what is now Eastham beach after spending several weeks sailing around cape Cod. He built a small fort there which became known as Providence Plantation due to its location near what is today Wellesley College Providence Plantation was purchased by Governor Winthrop from Sir Edmund Andros in 1641; it passed through various hands until it came into the hands of Samuel Eliot Morison in 1797. In 1820 it passed through an act providing for its dissolution; but it re-emerged under special legislation granted by US President James K. Polk on February 9th 1848 which provided for its incorporation into Plymouth Township with a population of 706 people The first permanent settler arrived just after sidewinding across Mud Pond: Capt’n John Smith & his wife Deborah had been out ‘finding wood upon their plantation’ when they saw some Indians coming downriver towards them over Mud Pond – they thought they were friendly Indians . . . They reported this encounter to LtGov Rivers who ordered Capt’n Smith & his wife not only to return home but also bring all their goods with them back so he could sell them something – this done [they] set off again about noon next day for Amherst where they got cached goods belonging to Capt’n Willoughby[†] before reporting back across Mud Pond Mud Pondmarker #1 - This well may date back 4 or 5 centuries! Everett, Massachusetts is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 9,828 at the 2010 census. Everett is home to the Everett Community College and several industrial parks that have been important in the town's economy for many years. The first settlement in what is now Everett was established by John Winthrop in 1630 as part of the colony of New England. In 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, General George Washington reconnaissance-in-person discovered and invaded Rhode Island from what is now Everett when he crossed into that state on his way to attack British forces at QuINCY Point on Long Island. The Battle of Bunker Hill took place near present day Everett when American troops under General Israel Putnam fought against British forces commanded by Colonel Samuel Adams. Everett became a town on December 15, 1825, when it was selected as one of two towns in Norfolk County (the other being Danvers) to be consolidated with Boston to form a new county named after its founder: Josiah Quincy. The incorporation date has been incorrectly estimated as November 3rd or November 12th because both dates fall on Christmas Day; however this date actually occurred on October 25th due to an error made during the first count of residents in the town after incorporation. In 1827-29 Governor Andrew Johnson ordered repairs to Eastern Railroad which had broken down and posed a threat to transportation linking Boston with Portsmouth and Norwich. At first local farmers paid for these repairs out of their own pockets but soon everyone began contributing financially so thatimprovements could be made throughout much of eastern MA including Everett without raising taxes elsewhere. This event started what would become known as "The Great Roadproject". Today most people think about this project when they hear about Route 128 or Interstate 95 which run through town center just east of I-495 exit 8A - these highways were originally built parallel to each other but right after Highway 1 opened up all those areas went back together again! The old alignment can be seen from MASS Moondog Rd., where I-495 meets I-95 Business Loop en route southbound towards Framingham and Northborough On July 5th 1886 Everett voters approved annexation by Manchester Township (now Watertown).
