Easthampton, MA is a small town in the town of North Adams, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1795 by General John Hancock and is home to the Easthampton Coffee Company. The coffee company has been in business since 1820. The company has produced over 1,500 different types of coffee products. The first incarnation of the Easthampton Coffee Company was founded by General John Hancock and his brother-in-law Nicholas Verga. They started out producing a water keg beverage called "Hancock's". However, it didn't take long for them to come up with their own coffee product—a pour-over coffee known as "Verga's." After a few years of production, they decided to move their operations from Quincy to what is now Easthampton. Unfortunately, this location wasn't ideal for brewing because it had no natural shelter from the elements. So they continued to produce at their original location until 1825 when they moved again—this time to North Adams where they remain today. One of the most significant moments associated with the early days of the Easthampton Coffee Company came about when Nathan Hale became its president in 1827. Hale was an important figure within American politics at that time and he helped convince King George III that coffee should be given some attention as an agricultural crop instead of just being left behind as an import commodity like wine or whiskey were. This led to changes within British society regarding how food was consumed and eventually made coffee more available on a widespread basis throughout Europe and America than ever before! During World War II, many people in Easthampton relied heavily on coffee for their morning caffeine fix due to rationing regulations that limited availability of other goods during wartime times. In fact, one particular hardship faced by those who depended on coffee was that beans could only be bought through mail order so customers couldn't get hold of them directly from farmers! Fortunately, however, things changed after war ended thanks to innovations such as air freight which allowed goods like beans into quantities large enough so people could buy them without having too much trouble storing them! The first permanent settler in Easthampton was Nicholas Easton who arrived in 1630. He and his family were among the earliest settlers on what would become Easthampton Manor (later Eastham). In 1775, Colonel John Adams gave land to the town for school purposes on which it now stands. The original school building still stands and is used as a library today. During World War II, many people from Easthampton came to work in munitions plants in nearby Waltham and Framingham. In 1854, Drury's Store opened in Easthampton and became one of the most popular local businesses. Other early businesses that thrived include Jno.'s grocery store (1872), Grote & Latham coal and lumber yard (1876), Mast Brothers bakery (1879), Fayette Drug Company (1905), Davenport Cigar store (1907) and finally Wigglesworth furniture company (1920). During World War II, many people from Easthampton came to work in munitions plants in nearby Waltham and Framingham. After the war, many of these businesses closed down or changed hands; however, Jno.'s store remains a cherished local Tradition to this day! According to the 2010 US Census there are 5,869 people residing within the town limits of Easthampton-of which 3% are considered "Hispanic or Latino" by federal law definition while all other residents are white European Americans according to self-reported race/ethnicity data collected during2010 American Community Survey 1-year cycle1%. Of note here Hispanic/Latino residents account for 2% of all adults within town limits with no official designation but nonetheless wield significant economic clout due largely to their concentration within high-income enclaves like West Roxbury MA .
