The Chicopee Coast Guard Auxiliary was founded in 1916. The Auxiliary is the oldest volunteer coast guard organization in Massachusetts and has a rich history of service to the community. From its early days, the Auxiliary was committed to providing humanitarian assistance to those impacted by disasters, including the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Today, the Coast Guard Auxiliary continues its important role as a supportive and lifesaving partner to members of the Chicopee community. In addition to providing emergency response services, the Auxiliary provides educational opportunities for children and adults alike through various programs such as summer camps, social events and fire prevention tips. Throughout its history, the Coastal Guard Auxiliary has always been dedicated to uphold our community’s values of decency and respect.
