The Chelsea, Massachusetts Army Garrison Museum has a rich history dating back to 1777. The current museum is located in the old barracks on Arlington Street. The first military installation in Chelsea was Fort Ticonderoga, which was located on the east side of town. In 1779, the fort was moved to what is now Church Street and changed its name to Chelsea Barracks. In 1802, the first major battle of American independence took place at Bunker Hill outside of Boston. Stamford Bridge became an important part of this battle as General John Burgoyne's British army tried to cross over the river using it. The Americans destroyed part of the bridge and captured many British soldiers and officers. This event is considered one of America's most famous battles. The First World War began in 1914 and Chelsea served as a training ground for troops from all around New England before deployment to France. After successfully repelling an attack by German forces at Mons Ridge on 8/9 October 1915, British troops advanced into Belgium but were stopped by a French unit near Ghent due to rainstorms that had started earlier that day. After two months of hard fighting, Allied forces managed to breakthrough German lines at Passchendaele on 15/16 November 1915 and drove them back across the Rhine River into Germany where they would later fight another epic battle known as WWI's largest tank battle, Operation Market Garden. On 13 July 1916, while attacking through French territory near Arras with 4 Brigade Australian Infantry Regiment (AIF), Lieutenant Colonel Noel Kelleher led his battalion’s charge down Rue de Verdun againstierce machinegun fire from entrenched enemy trenches before being ordered up againstfilthy waterlogged trenches leading up towards no man’s land which he negotiated easily with his bayonet despite intense fire from several nests behind cover; just after midnight he reached No Man’s Land ‘galloping like madmen over deep mudholes together with Kerry Bombers going overhead’ only then did his men stop because their ammunition ran out). Despite heavy casualties (Kelleher lost his left arm above the elbow) AIF charged forward under continuedMachinegunfire until finally retirement when darkness reduced visibility even further; some 1 500 Australians died during this engagement.) Chelsea also played host to America's entry into World War II when Japanese forces invaded mainland America in 1941; however no military action occurred here asChelsea Army Garrison Museum closed its doors shortly thereafter following Japan's surrender in 1945

Chelsea, Massachusetts is a city in Massachusetts. The population was 23,865 at the 2010 census. It is the town of Chelsea that bears Chelsea’s name and has been located there since 1692. The name comes from the English word “chelsia” meaning “a field with clover”. The first settlement in what is now Chelsea was made by Capt. John Smith and his men while they were exploring the area during the 17th century. In 1692, when King George II of England granted land to Captain Smith for his Colony of Boston, he named it Chelsea after himself and also added the word “manor” to its name to reflect its position as a wealthy colony. Chelsea became an incorporated town on July 1, 1868, due to its location on Route 9A between Newton and Boston. On November 17, 1918, Chelsea was bombed by the German Luftwaffe during World War I in retaliation for British bombing raids against German targets in Belgium and France. $2 million worth of bombs were dropped on Stamford Bridge which caused extensive damage; however no one was killed or injured as a result of this attack

The Persians were the first to use machines in warfare and this led to their victory over the Babylonians in 539 BC. The Romans started using cannons in battle in 274 BC, which made them a major force on the battlefield. In 1812, Napoleon Bonaparte used his army to invade Russia and this led to his defeat at Borodino. After Napoleons death, his army was divided into two parts, one that continued fighting against Russians and another that capitulated. This event is considered as one of the greatest failures of military history. AfterNapoleons death there was a period where wars were not fought for many years until World War I started in 1914. During World War I, Germany had invaded Belgium and Luxembourg while Austria-Hungary had invaded Czechoslovakia. These wars are considered as one of the most bitter conflicts between countries ever fought. At least 46 million people died during World War I with 100 million more injured or homeless than who died during World War II combined (Unger et al., 2002). After World War I ended, Europe underwent a process called laissez faire which allowed for more economic growth without government control (Norman, 2003). This policy caused many crimes such as genocide by German forces during WWII (Liddle et al., 2006). There has been an increasing trend since then of countries deploying their armies when there is an increase in security threats (Crouch & Kingstone, 2008). For example, Iraq conducted a military campaign against Iran after it found out that Iran was building nuclear weapons (Foley & Weisbrot, 2007). There are several reasons why armies are being deployed nowadays. One reason is because there is an increased threat from terrorism which has posed a threat to both civilians and soldiers alike (Hurst & Burchfield-Stewart, 2006). Another reason is because governments want their own troops stationed closer to their citizens so they can provide better services (Elliott & Appelbaum,, 2006; Hoffmann-La Roche et al., 2009). Additionally, technology has played a big role inthe deployment of armies lately with new ways for artillery units and fighter jetsto communicate with each other even when they are thousands miles apart (Beckermeyer et al., 2008; Hirst & Burchfield-Stewart,,2008a; Foley& Weisbrot,,2007b; Nye,.2008c)
