Brockton, Massachusetts is a city in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 54,871 at the 2010 census. Brockton is one of two cities in Boston metropolitan area and is the largest city on the East Coast of the United States. It is also home to Harvard University. Brockton was first settled by English colonists in 1636 as "Brocketon". The name derived from a nearby brocken tree which served as a landmark for early settlers. In 1764, when Boston became an independent colony, Brockton became part of that city'sHelpman Square district. From 1800 until 1825, it was governed by the separate town meeting system; thereafter it became one ofBoston's five boroughs under its new municipal form with a mayor and sixteen council members. In 1827 Brockton passed an ordinance prohibiting photography or printing without written consent of all individuals concerned; this ordinance remains in effect to this day. On July 15, 1860, during the American Civil War (1861-1865), Brockton joined Boston and other cities in resisting Confederate Genoese forces advancing through New England under General Robert Ewell Lee seeking to capture Fort Sumter on April 12th 1861. The battle resulted in over 400 casualties among both Confederate and Union troops and destroyed many homes and businesses within Brockton limits - but no injuries were reported among either side civilian residents or soldiers. On October 20th 1870 BrockTON passed an act giving women full suffrage within city limits (this legislation remains effective to this day). On December 5th 1914 Allied bombers raided German targets inside BrockTON causing extensive damage before returning home late that night; only minor injuries were reported among civilians living within the boundaries ofBrookline Manor which had been bombarded earlier that day by British Bomber Command RAF aircraft stationed at Hanworth Airfield outside London - these raids are known collectively as 'The Blitz'. The last Mayor of Brookline Manor was Marvin Sargent who served from 1979 until his death on January 2nd 1984 after serving 44 years uninterruptedly officeing Borough Council member positions including 9 years as Mayor himself! When Community Board 3 selectees contacted City Hall asking about their right to vote on any matter brought before them they were informed categorically that they would not be able to do so because their portion ofBROCKTON COUNCIL WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOTE ON ANY COMMUNITY BOARD MEETINGS THAT INVOLVE THE PROVISION OF PUBLIC SERVICES! This blatant disregard for democracy left many citizens feeling disenfranchised and frustrated – especially given that BROCKTON COUNCIL has sole authority over matters pertaining To Streetscape & Parking Cleanup & Maintenance etc...

From 312 BC until 476 AD, when the Western Roman Empire fell, the army was responsible for policing the empire and maintaining law and order. Throughout its history, the army has been deployed on many different occasions. Some of these deployments have been more successful than others, but all have had a lasting impact on society as a whole. Here are some examples: In 333 BC, when Carthage was defeated by Rome, an alliance was formed between Rome and Carthage calledthe League of Corinth. This alliance allowed both sides to share in power while continuing hostilities against each other). After this victory over Carthage, Rome began expanding its territory into new areas (such as Libya) while also building up its navy (). In 146 BC, after defeating Macedonia at Zama (), Rome became an undisputed masters of Europe (). In 509 BC Emperor Romulus Augustus introduced conscription into the Roman army (), which increased its size by 100%. By 414 AD there were 1 million soldiers in service (). In 153 BC two legions () were raised from among veterans from Sicily () and Sardinia () who had fought with Caesar during his conquest of that island (). By 82 BC there were 5 legions (), making it one of the largest armies in Europe (). The legion system gradually decreased throughout much of Antiquity because most troopsWere drafted into auxiliary units or field units instead (). Field armies usually numbered around 100 000-200 000 men but can numbering up to 400 000 men depending on circumstances). However large field armies could still be disbanded if they became too weak or vulnerable to defeat by another force.). Auxiliary units made up only about 10% of all soldier strength (). Overall troop deployment varied greatly over time because commanders decided what kind Of warfare To fight (leathernecked infantry versus bowman), How To deploy troops (in line formation versus dismounted), And When To attack (when enemies’ forces are weakest)). Brockton is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 24,856 at the 2010 census. Brockton is one of two towns in Plymouth County that are considered part of the Boston metropolitan area. It is bordered by the city of Boston to the north, Quincy to the east and west, and Somerville to the south. Brockton was founded in 1797 as a small village on Hingham Peninsula by John Brockman and his family. In 1801, it became a separate town under charter from Plymouth County. The first African American resident of Brockton was Ebenezer Baptiste who arrived in 1807. At its peak, Brockton had around 100 residents but declined after 1800 due to rapid population growth in nearby cities such as Boston and Quincy. The town's economy changed significantly during World War II when production for vehicles led to an increase in employment within the town itself as well as outside of it - many businesses opened up due to wartime demand for military vehicles and parts across all sectors of society. After hostilities ended, large numbers of veterans returned home and began rebuilding their lives back at home which helped keep Brockton vibrant through most of the postwar years; however, like other smaller towns throughout New England following war-time prosperity Decline followed soon afterwards with few new businesses opening up until recently when there has been an increase in new business formation overall thanks largely to growth within Fidelity Investments (the largest private employer) - although this development may be reversing somewhat with increasing competition from larger employers elsewhere in New England (see "Rising rents: What costs taxpayers?"). Today's Brockton is one ofouthandest industrial areas in New England because its manufacturing base shifted towards service industries such as health care and information technology starting around 2000 while its traditional heavy industry has moved into services or light industry over recent decades (by contrast Providence/ Warwick had much more traditional heavy industry until recently). Despite this shiftover some entrepreneurs have managed to revive some old factories including munitions manufacturer Colt Firearms which shuttered its plant last year amidst concerns about increased competition from Asian manufacturers - another sign that even small towns can experience significant change if they want it too).
