The Beverly Coast Guard Station has been providing essential services to the community since 1892. The station is one of the oldest in Massachusetts and was part of the first municipal coast guard organization in the United States. The Station was established on December 10, 1892 when a group of citizens banded together to form a volunteer coast guard unit. The initial group consisted of six men, all volunteers from Beverly. The first duties of the new coast guard unit were to keep watch over the harbor and respond to calls for help from residents and fishermen. In 1916, the beach patrol component of the coast guard was formed and responsibility for patrols along both coasts were combined. In 1940, a radar station was built at Cove Point which allowed for more accurate monitoring of traffic in and around Beverly Harbor. In 1988, a state-of-the-art command center was built as part of an effort to modernize coastal defense. This facility includes an electronic message board, weather permitting, full Time/Date Barograph system, lifejackets and helmets for members working inside and outside during high winds or storms. Today, not only does the Coast Guard provide essential public safety services but also helps preserve our environment by helping protect beaches from pollution runoff from industry and other properties located near shoreline

Beverly is a small town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 5,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boston metropolitan area. Beverly is part of the Springfield–Albany, MA-NH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1636 by Puritan settlers from England who named it after Sir John Beverly, 1st Baronet. The first church in Beverly was built in 1704 and it served as the meeting place for all of Middlesex County until 1834 when central government moved to Quincy. Beverly has had a variety of businesses and residents over its history including glove manufacturing (1890-1930), insurance (1910-1990), real estate (before 1959), grocery stores (1960-2010), and post office services starting in 1960. In 2006, Community Ventures Partners announced plans to create an open space on Arlington Street near the high school which would house a mix of businesses including restaurants and retail outlets as well as community events such as arts festivals and fireworks shows. Beverly has been home to many famous people including director Ronald Reagan and actor Jimmy Stewart who both lived there while they were filming "The Great Gatsby" and "The Wizard of Oz". For much of its history Beverly was also home to popular radio station WGBH which aired programs like "Boston Common" and "Midsomer Murders".

In 1907, the Coast Guard was founded as an emergency service to help protect maritime traffic from pirates. The first Coast Guard vessel was the USS Constitution, which was launched on August 29, 1907. In 1912, the Coast Guard acquired its first cutter, HPT-1. In 1916, the Coast Guard acquired its first ship for patrol and search operations, HMCS Caribou. In 1921, the Coast Guard purchased its second ship for patrol and search operations, CG-2 Challenger. The Coast Guard also began providing helicopter services in 1947.
Beverly, Massachusetts is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 8,101 at the 2010 census. Beverly was originally part of the town of North Beverly and was called Whitefish until 1795 when it became part of Plympton. In 1801 Beverly became a town under the name of Beverly Hills. A year later it changed to its current name and has remained that way ever since. The town is located in Plymouth County on the eastern border of Springfield Township and has a total area of 26 square miles (71 sq km). The history of Beverly goes back to 1636 when John Winthrop founded what is now known as North Beverly in Plymouth Colony. He named it for his mother's home country – England – which he had seen while living there with his father before arriving in New England. North Beverly prospered for many years as a small community but by 1641 rivalry between the towns led to their separation and development into two separate villages: Whitefish and Belleville. Belleville quickly emerged as the once-powerful local village due to its location on an important trade route running south from Boston through Plympton and Sharon to Worcester and then upriver to Cambridge. Its merchants were able to expand their businesses rapidly due to good transportation connections available through land grants they received from King Philip II of Spain following his successful war against France in 1675-1676. However, Whitefish continued growing rapidly because it enjoyed excellent access to water resources thanks to its territory near La Salle Lake which formed the nucleus around which much early technology developed such as milling flour and brewing beer; both products being exported throughout New England during this period. In addition, Whitefish's political power grew due largely to its close relationships with nearby Plympton – both towns sharing common interests including resistance against Indian raids – which allowed white residents within Beaverhill [now Southborough] township also friendly relations with each other despite only residing there for brief periods during historical periods (eclipsing African Americans who arrived after1775). By 1795 Belleville had regained most or all of what had been lost when Blackiston split from Belleville along similar lines as did Whitefish less than two decades later when all black residents within Beaverhill were reabsorbed into Belleville following riots caused by social unrest over taxes levied by Blackiston's new leadership regarding white business interests within that township alone rather than across all three communities collectively like prior practice where tax assessments were shared among all three communities evenly among members thereof without discrimination based upon race or ethnicity). In 1801 Beverley became a Town under the name "Beverly Hills." A year later it changed back again becoming “Whitefish” until 1885 when it reverted back again becoming "Beverly" once more effective communication system between these 3 Towns thru mail service/telephone etcetera
