After confessing his crime and undergoing mental health evaluation before being put into police custody, Oswald was fatally shot by Officer Jack Ruby moments after leaving the Dallas jail where he had been held since his arrest. 3) Massacre at Columbine High School On April 20th 1999, fifteen students and six staff members were gunned down when Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold opened fire inside Columbine High School in Colorado Springs. The massacre remains one of America's deadliest school shootings ever committed despite arrests and convictions only five months later thanks in large measure to advances in technology such as DNA fingerprinting which helped identify both killers during their trial proceedings

Agawam is a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 1,611 at the 2010 census. It lies on the eastern edge of the Town of Amherst and is bordered by the towns of Northampton to the south and Wellesley to the east. The first settlement in what is now Agawam was founded in 1622 by Puritans under leadership of John Winthrop. The town became a separate village in 1768 when it merged with Amherst. In 1837, Agawam was designated as part of the new University of Massachusetts system. The oldest building still standing in Agawam is an old gristmill dating from 1622 which still grinds flour for local residents today. A second gristmill was built about 1800 but its miller died suddenly and never operated; this mill has been demolished. In 1837, Agawam amalgamated with Wellesley to form one large town with a population of over 6,000 people. This merger resulted in many changes for both communities: For example, wells were drilled throughout wellesley so that water could be brought into town directly from springs (instead of being trucked long distances). Additionally, groceries became available not only at stores within the larger community but also at more distant stores acrosswellesley township (and later acrossAmherst).
Agawam is located in the town of Northampton, Massachusetts. The site was first settled by the Algonquian-speaking Pequot people in 1636. The town was founded on a peninsula formed by two branches of the Charles River. It became a part of Northampton after that town's incorporation in 1768.
