Fresh roasted coffee is a centuries old tradition in the United States and many other countries. The first mention of fresh roasted coffee is from the 15th century, when it was mentioned by Giovanni della Robbia in his book De re metallica. Coffee was originally brewed using water that had been brought from far away and then heated up. In 1795, John Thornton founded Thornton's Coffee House in Agawam, Massachusetts as the first local roaster of fresh roasted coffee in the US. In 1898, Samuel French began selling Java coffee beans from his farm near Boston. This new type of coffee became popular and soon there were several small roasters throughout America making fresh roasted coffee. By 1903, over 100 different roasters had started offering fresh roasted coffee in various forms including ground, whole bean, or espresso beans. One of the most famous brands for fresh roasted coffee is Starbucks. They have been making all-natural Roastmasters Coffee since 1997, which has set them apart from most other companies that roast their own coffees. Starbucks also offers a variety of flavored syrups called creams and sugars which are added to their coffees to give them a unique flavor profile every time they are served

Agawam is a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 1,817 at the 2010 census. The town is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Agawam arrived in 1636 from Ipswich and began to clear land for farming near what is now downtown Agawam. In 1722 the towns of Northampton and Southwick were merged into Agawam to form one municipality. In 1825 a post office was established at Agawam, and mail was transported overland from Northampton to Agawam until 1869 when a steamboat service became available. In 1870 the north-south highway between Boston and Worcester was completed, cutting off agricultural access to the east side of Hampden County. As more people moved away from rural areas for jobs in larger cities during the Progressive Era, demand for farmland increased; by 1920 there were only four small farmers remaining in Aggawaom according to the 1940 census. During World War II there was heavy military activity near Agawam as munitions were stockpiled for use in Europe; many homes were destroyed or damaged as a result of bombing raids on nearby villages such as Sudbury and Amherst (now part of Springfield). In 1959 Agawam voters adopted an ordinance authorizing school districts within its borders to levy taxes not exceeding two dollars per pupil on property valued over $50 per year; this helped fund schools within its boundaries without having to appeal to other towns or villages for funding. When Hampshire County formed in 1996 it annexed portions of neighboring Middlesex County including parts of Amherst and Sudbury; however, no town has officially requested that their territory be annexed since then due to lack of interest or support among local residents. As suburban sprawl continued unabated throughout much of New England during the 21st century there has been an increasing trend towards development around agroindustrial farms located close to large shopping malls and highways; this has led some villagers concerned about possible loss of open space necessary for traditional agriculture while also impacting water resources which are used by several thousand residents who rely on wells situated around Aggawaom Township
Fresh roasted coffee has a long and varied history, dating back to at least the early 17th century. In some cases, coffee was roasted in churches or other religious institutions. The first European to describe coffee as a drinkable beverage was Herodotus in the 4th century BC. Coffee became popular in Europe after Marco Polo discovered it while travelling through Asia in 1292. Roasting methods and beans began to change shortly afterwards, with more exposed sun exposure being used for better flavor and aroma. By the 16th century, different types of coffee had evolved including Ethiopian, Indonesian, and Guatemalan beans. There were also innovations such as French press roasting which increased its popularity during the 20th century. Fresh roasted coffee is now popular all over the world due to its unique flavor profile and sustainability.
Fresh roasted coffee beans come from a roast of whole beans, usually two weeks old. Roasting starts with removing the outside husks and then burning the beans in an oven or on a stovetop until they are a deep dark color. The next step is to process these beans by crushing them with a mortar and pestle into very small pieces. Finally, the coffee is stored in an airtight container for up to four days before it is ready to be served
Agawam was a small town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in 1835. It was named for the Agawam Creek. The first permanent English settlers arrived in 1636, and the town was chartered in 1701. In 1800, it had a population of only seventy-six people. By 1830, however, it had grown to more than two thousand residents. The town's main business was agriculture; its most famous product was hay. The town experienced steady growth until the early 19th century when new transportation technologies made it possible to bring larger families to Agawam and other towns near Boston. By 1827, the population of Agawam had reached four thousand people; by 1840, it had increased to ten thousand people. However, by 1850 the population of Agawam had decreased again because of waves of Irish immigrants who settled in agrarian areas across New England during that decade. In 1861, following the American Civil War, Agawam became part of Worcester County when that county was created from parts of Middlesex and Worcester counties. For many years after that era there were no changes to its municipal government or economy; however, some physical changes occurred such as adding a public library in 1903 and an opera house in 1924. In recent decades various businesses have opened up within the limits of Agawam; one example is a KFC restaurant which opened up in 1995 on Route 1A just outside the old post office building which served as headquarters for local government for many years before being moved into its current location downtown since 2002
