This was the first gun purchase made in what is now known as Westminster. The rifle was used for target practice and hunting until it was donated to the town in 1945 by Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Thornton Jr. (father and mother of John Thornton). The next handgun purchase occurred on October 28, 1902 when William Fenton bought a Smith & Wesson service revolver from George Littrell at auction at the Old Court House in Westminster. This revolver would serve as the basis for many future handguns purchases including those made by Mayor William J. Gaylord during his time as mayor from 1916-1918 and again from 1923-1929. On September 15, 1934, Kenneth Sauer purchased a Colt 1911 pistol from Harry D’Angelo at an auction held at the old court house in Westminster under the name of “Harry D’Angelo Pistol Sales Corp” It is believed that this may have been one of only two pistols ever sold under this name! The other is thought to be a reproduction of an early Winchesters signed by Edmond Oswald! Harry D’Angelo served as president of Colt Firearms Co., Incorporated from 1919 until his death in 1951! He was also owner/operator of Philadelphia Gun Shop #1 where he sold various firearms including pistols! In addition to pistols, he also operated a ammunition store which lasted into the early 1960s! In 1946, Mr James Prentice Purchased a Beretta AR-15 rifle which served him through numerous sales over its years of ownership! The rifle has been stored at various locations since its acquisition including New Castle Armory Museum where it currently resides!

In 1871, it became part of Baltimore City and was renamed to its current name in 1931 after King Edward VII of England who had moved from Richmond to become the first British monarch to visit America since 1607. The city has a rich history which can be traced back to its early days as an agricultural town located along Route 1a north of Harford County and west of Frederick County. The area that would eventually become Westminster was first settled by Native Americans about 12,000 years ago and evidence suggests that there were early Indian villages present in what is now Westminster when European settlers arrived in this area around 1740. When Queen Anne came into power over Great Britain following her father’s death she decided that Prince George’s County should be divided into three counties based on land values within each section – Anson (west), Cecil (east), and Kent (north). This decision led to the founding of Westminster Township on Maynard Street by John Carroll on October 3rd, 1792 as part of an effort to create more equitable division of property among those living within his governance jurisdiction. In 1871, when Baltimore City became a separate municipality, Westminister lost its status as a township but retained its right to vote for members of the Baltimore City Council. From 1901-1925 it served as the capital city for Prince Georges County; however due primarily because it housed both government offices and many important businesses including Jardine & Holt Incorporated until 1959 when they moved out to eastern Montgomery County comprehensive municipality having purchased much land eastward around Beltway Park - which remains today their corporate headquarters location - becoming economically unviable as business locations go outside inner ring suburbs like Bethesda or Silver Spring; while also suffering from problems with crime rates being greater than those found within Inner Ring suburbs such as Bowie or Annapolis making it an attractive market place for businesses looking for less dangerous surroundings yet still close enoughto major metropolitan areas for employee transportation links across downtownBaltimoreCity center using DART light rail service) In 1925, following consolidation with other townships throughout Prince George's County under Mayor Harry Smedley's new zoning authority system known then as "Code Name" regulations which mandated that all new development must have some form of public health screening program before permits were given - much like today's Health departments checking blood pressure etc before granting building approvals - Westminster achieved planning approval for what would become Oneonta Roadhouse Inn & Spa with plans callinto feature 137 guest rooms including 25 suites upon completion followed by additional hotel/motel room space available up until 1960 when only 53 suites were ever built resultanting in a loss/gains ratio meaning that potential investors were discouraged from developing projects near Oneonta Roadhouse Inn & Spa leading ultimately to continued decline/increase in real estate prices culminating with $2 million investment being made adjacent thereto during 2006-2007 sold subsequent redevelopment effort resulting againin another loss/gains ratio meaning only 1 motel unitwas built resultinginginstill further decline/increase($10 million invested total) The economic turnaround experienced between 2006-2007 resulted againinanotherloss/gain ratiomeaningonlyone motelunitwasbuiltresultinginstillfurtherdecline(estimated value:$10 million) .
