Lewiston is a small town in Maine, located just north of the state's capital, Augusta. The population was 9,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland-South Portland-Biddeford, ME, Micropolitan Statistical Area. Lewiston is home to two universities - University of Maine (UMaine) and Southern Maine College - as well as a number of businesses and organizations including The Lewiston Paper Company and Eastern Maine Electric Cooperative. Lewiston was founded by farmers in 1842 on the rise of the Penobscot River Valley from swamp to wheat fields. By 1870, textile manufacturing had become an important industry with mills constructed here for both cotton and woolen fabrics. In 1930, Lewiston became one of only a few U.S. towns to be served by airmail service when it began serving as the eastern terminus for United Airlines' network across New England. After World War II ended, many factories closed in Lewiston but new ones started up: Boeing Airplane Manufacturing Company in 1958; Beechcraft Corporation in 1961; Merrill Custom Homes starting up in 1962; First National Bankchanturing Division starting up in 1967; Socko's Pizza chain opening its first store here in 1969; and Hewlett-Packard company founding its headquarters here in 1991 after relocating from Oregon City, Oregon

During World War I (1914-18), café owners rationed ground beans so that they could not produce too much caffeine; however, this didn't mean thatresso drinkers stopped drinking coffee altogether! During World War II (1939-45), espresso drinkers turned their attention to iced coffees which became very popular due to their cold brew consistency and taste. In 1957, Dunkin' Donuts Corporation introduced Doughnuts with Coffee which quickly became a favorite breakfast food item for many people across the United States! From here on out, espresso drinking continued its popularity as an after-work replacement for regular morning routine!
