Minden is a small town located in the state of Louisiana. The population was 1,567 at the 2010 census. Minden is part of the Shreveport-Bossier City area. The Minden community was founded in 1835 by Valerius Flournoy and his family. The Flournoys were French immigrants who had settled in what is now southwestern Louisiana. In 1838, they married Marie Lemaître and named their new community after her sister, Marie Lemaître Villebonne. They soon abandoned their original name for two reasons: First, because it sounded like something from a distance; and second, because they didn't want to be known as just "Minden." In 1842, the Post Office moved to Minden from New Iberia. It remained there until it was replaced by the current USPS building on Main Street in 1930. During World War II, Minden was one of several communities located along the Red River Valley that furnished skilled labor for Project Paperclip - a secretly sponsored American program that recruited European Jews to work in military-industrial complexes in North America during World War II as cheap labor for American factories. In 1957, when Shreveport-Bossier City became an independent city, Mayor John Unitas renamed most of its streets after Ulysses S Grant Boulevard (which ran through downtown) and other nearby historic sites including Soldier Field (now home to the Chicago Bears), Alamo Heights (now home to Dallas Cowboys), and Fort Renéville (now home to Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department). Adjacent neighborhoods also received similar naming honors such as Pruitt Place (named after former Louisiana Governor Huey P. Newton) or Dogpatch (named for Confederate General Braxton Bragg). Today much of what once made up Minden has been lost within minutes' walk of town center due to development projects over the last several decades – with few exceptions being Stroud Cemetery which remains one of the oldest active cemeteries west of Memphis! Despite this loss, however, many residents remain passionate about remaining connected to their rural roots by keeping alive traditional aspects like storytelling sessions around Fourth Wednesday night dinner time starting at 6pm each year at old men's gravesites near Community Hall; religious services conducted every weeknight at 7pm at Old Men's Presbyterian Church; playing tag or going on hikes during high school summer vacations; visitations from visiting relatives during Christmas–New Year’s period...and so forth! And no matter where you look these days within 10 miles or so radius you will find some component either directly related to your ancestry or indirectly tie back into history not only here but also throughout southeast Louisiana!"

The earliest evidence of the Coast Guards presence on the East Coast can be found in 1776, when American forces entered New York City as part of the Revolutionary War. In 1779, George Washington appointed Rear Admiral James Kents as the first commanding officer of the United States Marine Corps at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Virginia Beach. From this point forward, coast guard detachments were stationed throughout the country. During World War II, members of both the military and civilian sectors joined together to form an all-volunteer coast guard force known as “The National Defense Force” or “NDF”. On September 12th, 1942, President Franklin D Roosevelt signed into law legislation creating the National Defense Service Act which granted access to jobs in both military and civil agencies to citizens who were over 30 years old with no dependents living at home. This change not only opened up opportunities for people who had always wanted to join a government agency but also provided an pool from which new officers could be recruited. As a result of this enlistment program, coast guard units played an important role during World War II in rescuing downed pilots and naval vessels; apprehending Axis personnel; maintaining watch on merchant shipping; keeping supplies flowing safely through ports; assists with anti-submarine warfare operations; and protection for troops coming ashore during war time. Following World War II ended, some members decided that their careers within the coast guard would have longevity if they took advantage of subsequent career opportunities offered by various government agencies (e.g., private industry). Therefore, manymembers served successive administrations until their retirement or death certificates were filed away somewhere along the way (this includes individuals such as Governors John Connally (D), Everett Dirksen (R), Edwin Meese III (R), William Cohen (D)), most notably Harry S Truman who retired on December 5th 1953 after serving 34 years at sea including 10 years as Commandant/Director General Harbor Security Forces
