It is now on display at the Hammond Museum. On July 1, 1889, W.A. Johnsons bought a .44 caliber revolver from Luther J. Holmes for $10 cash. This revolver would later be used in the murder of Waverly Ransom and will remain missing ever since. In 1924, Aaron Burr shot an apple off a tree with his new .45 caliber pistol while hunting near Hammonds courthouse yards after shooting Governor John Bel Edwards who had refused to pardon Burr following his conviction for treason against the United States (1848). That same year also saw the purchase of a Remington rifle by Pte Maurice Bourgeois from Mrs Lillie Beauxneville after shooting an intruder inside her home while she slept outside overnight while her husband cooked dinner inside; this event is still considered one of hammons earliest gun purchases even though it wasn't registered with any government or police department until 1898 when it was sold to Henry Plummer through Jens Rasmussen who traded it back to Mrs Beauxneville under false pretenses due to its new owner's military service). On May 25th 1948 James Tatum purchased 6 handguns including 2 Beretta 92FS pistols (#1 & #2), Colt Python Revolvers (#3 thru #6), Smith&Wesson Model 9 Handguns (#1 thru #4), Winchester Super 90 Shotguns (#1 thru #5), Savage Arms KSG Pistol (.357 Magnum) from Fenton Higgins along with 100 rounds each (10 shotshells) machinegun magazine (.75 caliber) & 120 round drum magazine (.40 caliber)(for use by members of The Red Sox Club Of Hammond which met monthly at Higgins lodge located behind The Grand Opera House))from Don Kappes for just $100 cash; these weapons would be stored and never fired unless ordered specifically by police officers working withinHammond limits until they were finally auctioned off Offered price:$500 + shipping

Hammond, Louisiana is a small town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Hammond was founded in 1853 by the fur traders and settlers of the area. The town's name comes from General David Hammond, who served as commander of Union forces during the American Civil War. At its peak in the 1920s, Hammond had a population of around 1,500 people. However, since then it has seen a decrease in population and businesses due to suburbanization and other factors. Today, the town only has a few hundred residents and most of its businesses are located outside of town. The history of Hammond can be traced back to 1853 when fur traders and settlers began arriving in this area looking for land to settle. By 1861, there were over 100 people living in Hammond. In 1871, the first school was built in Hammond and it remains open to this day asHammond Elementary School. From here on out, stability arrived for Hammond as white settlement increased while black settlement decreased until World War II when rates escalated again which caused many investments to dry up leaving little hope for the future development of the community. This situation would not last however; within 10 years there had been an increase in black residents moving into nearby Thibodaux with new factories opening up downtown Thibodaux giving impetus for growth once more within Hammond itself followed by an influx of refugees from Katrina which led to an even larger increase both inside/outsideof town which continues today as storefronts line Main Street alluding back to what was once thriving local business district that employed over 100 locals including many teachers at one point! Today though much like any other community post-Katrina it struggles with crime rates high poverty rates (due largely thereto) lack sunshine unfriendly environment & lack government support making life difficult but also unique given location

In the 1970s, Hammond experienced an economic decline as a result of local oil production disappearing beginning in 1969.
