The Hammond Coffee Company was founded in 1905 by John Hammond and his wife Anna. The company grew rapidly, purchasing land and building a variety of infrastructure including a mill, roasting house, and storage facility. In 1916, the company moved to its current location on Rue de la Carriere in Hammond. The company has been family-owned and operated ever since. Today, the Hammond Coffee Company produces over 100 different types of coffee products. Products include espresso, cappuccino, latte artichoke hearts, iced tea, hot chocolate, smoothies, and more.
Hammond is an unincorporated community in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. Hammond was named for General David Hammond, a Confederate officer who fought in the American Civil War. The community lies on the east bank of the Bayou Teche and is within the boundaries of New Iberia. It had a population of 321 as of 2010. The first permanent settler in Hammond was Nicholas de la Rue, who arrived in 1827. He built a small cabin on the present site of Hammonds Mills; it burned down in 1868. A post office was established at Hammond in 1873, and remained open until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1904, General John J. Pershing set up camp at Hammond on the Bayou Teche to study possible battlefield sites for his army's upcoming fight against Spanish troops at Santiago de Cuba; he ordered all available soldiers to be quartered here while they waited for reinforcements.

Hammond was founded in 1868 by Isaac Hammond and his wife Sarah. Hammond is a small town located in the parish of La Salle, Louisiana, about 23 miles (37 kilometers) northwest of Baton Rouge. The first settlers were General James Allred and his family, who arrived in 1868. The Hammonds built a log cabin on the current site of their village in 1870. They also started a sawmill and gristmill near present-day Hammondsville. The Hammonds also grew crops and raised livestock until the early 20th century when they switched to manufacturing products such as cigars and cigarettes. In 1916, Isaac Hammond donated land to establish LSU's first college campus at Hammondsville. The school became known as Southern University before it was renamed LSU in 1961. In 1924, Samuel Ivey donated an additional 4 acres (1 km2) to create Mississippi State College at Hammondsville which became LSU's second college campus after Baton Rouge’s Tulane University。 In 1957, Louisiana Governor John Crain approved the creation of Louisiana State University at Shreveport with plans for its eventual relocation to Orleans Parish across the river from New Orleans so that it could be closer to industry and business leaders in that city. That same year, Southern University merged with LSU; both universities continued to be named Southern but there was no longer any connection between them administratively or academically. In 1978, Texas A&M School of Commerce moved into a new building on Villere Avenue adjacent to LSU's main campus; this causedSouthern United States Business School (SUBIS) to move from Shreveport into nearby Luling also within Orleans Parish). In 1984–85 SUBIS vacated its old building on Broadway Street downtown Shreveport for a new facility constructed north of Veterans Memorial Park south of Interstate 10 west of Veterans Boulevard east off Hwy 98/US 90/SR 1 near SH 301/SR 741
