President Woodrow Wilson decided to build what was then considered one of America’s largest warships – USS NEW ZEALAND (CVN 76) – at this site instead of building at Newport News Shipbuilding because he felt that New York City could house an American navy large enough to deter any future European incursions into our country’s waters. In 1916 USS HORNET (CVH-1) became the second ship ever commissioned by the United States Navy after mined Hawaii following Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941; her mission was to protect US citizens living aboard ships sunk or damaged during air raids over Oahu by Japanese planes/ submarines operated from Pearl Harbor days earlier! New Zealand Prime Minister Haig visited Washington D C before she sailed for Honolulu Bay on January 19th 1942 to lay down her buoys for use by local military operations ashore; she had arrived there just days before Japan's sneakattack that successfully targeted Hawaiian capital city! CVN 76 would continue serving America through World War II until struck by fire onboard herself while moored at Ulithi Atoll late 1943 after being repaired from repairs begun prior to her launch! Eunice is a small town in northeastern Louisiana. It was founded in 1836 by French settlers, and has been the home of the Eunice community since then. The town is located on the eastern bank of the Red River, about 30 miles northeast of Alexandria. Eunice was named for an aunt who lived there before its founding. Over time these people acquired some local plantation skills which gave them some power and influence within their communities back home; however they continued to be viewed as second-class citizens by their white counterparts. The post-war period saw significant changes for both Eunice residents and those living nearby; starting with World War II (1939–1945), which saw a large influx of black soldiers into northwestern Louisiana during wartime production quotas set by President Franklin D Roosevelt’s New Deal coalition government; this created social tension across racial lines that would persist throughout the postwar years culminating in Hurricane Katrina’s landfall four years later). Eunice is an unincorporated community in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, United States. It was founded in 1849 by a group of Frenchmen who had come to the area as investors in the new Louisiana Territory. Eunice had a post office from 1851 until it closed in 1903. The community has since been abandoned and its remains are now part of the nearby town of Bossier City. The first European to visit what is now Bossier Parish was Jean Lafitte, Jr., on July 4, 1799. He disembarked his ship "Suffolk" at Bogue Bayou and traveled upriver for several days before finally reaching Baton Rouge. Lafitte's explorations into what is now eastern Bossier Parish began soon after he arrived and he named the bayou Saint-John after himself and another Frenchman, Jacques Marquette. In 1810, General James Kenedy founded Fort Nivernais on the present day side of Bogue Bayou opposite Abbeville while supplies were being unloaded from vessels sailing downriver to New Orleans. The fort served as a garrison for more than twenty years until it surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant's forces atala Hill on October 16, 1865 following Red River Campaign operations that summer. On November 2, 1814 during the Mexican–American War (1846–48), Texas Rangers raided through Bossier Parish killing many people including one priest and capturing two hundred cattle which they drove into northern Mexico along with six cannon pieces and other property worth $100,000 total when they returned home that winter. This event is also commonly known as the Battle of Brackettstown which ended with Mexican casualties totaling sixty-seven killed including eighteen soldiers from Texas Ranger Battalion #5; four officers: Captain James Cook (of Company C), First Lieutenant Isaac Watts Worth (of Company I) Lieutenant George Armstrong (of Company K) Sergeant Samuel Bryant (Captain John Brown). The Mexicans also took prisoners Captain Cook who would be held as a hostage until his release in 1850 by then Governor Edmund Kirby Smith; First Lieutenant Worth who would continue serving with distinction under Captains Armstrong & Bryant until his death at age thirty-six during an engagement near Decatur on May 6th, 1865; Sergeant Bryant who would later serve honorably as Superintendent of Schools for Harrison County according to legend; and Father José Ortiz de la Cueva who died while trying to escape captivity five weeks later en route from Matamoros back home to San Antonio de Padua rancho where he had been interned by Mexico prior to warogenesis there some time earlier but not captured alive like Father Ortiz did so lose all hope for parole or amnesty offer from Mexican authorities despite numerous pleas/warnings from American missionaries living among them about such an occurance given their open conflict situation with Mexico over land rights etc etc etc...
