The United States Air Force deploys gift history to Crowley, Louisiana every year in order to support the community. This tradition began in 1947 when then-Lt. Colonel Harry Hellman donated a jeep to the Crowley County Air National Guard Base. Since then, the AFB has sent over 1,000 gifts and items as part of their deployment program. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, December 3rd from 11am-3pm at the AFB. There will be an air show simulcast on WWL-TV in Lafayette and live streaming on YouTube by USAF Garrison Staff Sgt. Clint Hinson. In addition, there will be displays of military equipment and memorabilia from throughout the area as well as Awards Night where local residents are able to receive various awards for heroism or service done while deployed with the USAAF.

The town is home to three churches: St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. The United States Air Force Deployed Gift History begins with the beginning of World War II. TheAAF was formed on April 17, 1947 as a result of the National Security Act of 1947. The AAF became operational on September 4, 1947. The AAF is one of the most powerful militaries in the world and it has played an important role in many wars throughout history. One of the first deployments of the AAF was to Korea in 1951. After years of combat and service, the USAF returned to Korea in 1953 as part of Operation Provide Comfort. This deployment saw Operation Grand Slam which involved more than 1,500 aircraft flying over North Korea to drop food and supplies to starving civilians. In addition, helicopters were used for troop transport and airlifting personnel and supplies overland into North Korean territory. In Vietnam, the USAF played a significant role during both Tet Offensive (1969) and Easter Offensive (1970). These operations were conducted in order to overthrow South Vietnamese President Nguyen Van Thieu and his regime and begin discussions for peace negotiations that would lead to Ho Chi Minh’s coming into power. During Tet Offensive, over 2,500 USAF aircraft flew bombing missions against Vietnamese cities; during Easter Offensive, about 500 USAF planes flown ground attacks against enemy positions across three days

Crowley, Louisiana is a small town in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. It was founded in 1831 by John Crowley, a Scottish immigrant and landowner. The town grew rapidly after the U.S. Civil War, and became an important transportation center for the area. In the 1920s, Crowley became known as the "Queen of Crescent City" due to its high population density and commercial success. After World War II, Crowley declined in popularity but continues to be a popular tourist destination today.
Crowley was founded in 1822 by John Crowley and his wife, Sarah. The town grew quickly, and by 1834 it had a population of 350 people. The Crowley family ran a general store, post office, hotel, and other businesses in the town. The town experienced some success during the 1840s with its agricultural production. However, during the 1850s things began to change for Crowley when local farmers started to mechanize their farming operations. This led to a decline in the town's economy and its population dropped from 480 people in 1854 to 150 people in 1860. During the Civil War, Crowley was an important Confederate stronghold as it was located on the border of Union territory. After the war ended, much of Crowley's infrastructure were destroyed by Union forces. In 1865 it became part of New Orleans after Louisiana seceded from the United States. In 1870 Crowley lost its Missouri statehood status because of this loss and reverted back to French Canadian status becoming known as Coudray-sur-Orge. In 1912 it became part of Chalmette Parish when that parish was established separate from New Orleans Parish. In 1942 it merged with Terrebonne Parish to form Chalmette County Park which is still headquartered there today
