The Air Force deployed a gift to Bastrop, Louisiana on December 9th, 1941. The gift was a plane. The plane was called the USS Lexington. The Lexington flew from St Louis, Missouri to Bastrop, Louisiana and delivered supplies and personnel to participate in the war effort.

Bastrop is a small town in Louisiana. It is located in the parish of Bastrop, about 20 miles west of New Orleans. The population was 7,693 at the 2010 census. The first people to live in what is now Bastrop were Native Americans. They called the area "Hiawassee", which means "place where there are no trees". In 1805, General Andrew Jackson sent a party of soldiers to clear land for plantations near present-day Bastrop. In 1827, John Crain built a sawmill and store in what is now Bastrop. He named it after his brother-in-law, George Armstrong Crain, who had helped him buy the property. The town began to grow rapidly after that. In 1840, Captain John Smith founded the first school in Bastrop when he set up a mission hall on Mount Carmel hill near Present-day Bastrop Street and Broadway Road. There were only three students in schools throughout Louisiana when Captain Smith started school here; but by 1850 there were over 100 students attending these schools across the state! In 1851, Judge Jesse Jeter established courtland around present-day Bastrop on land donated by General Wm Hoggs. The courthouse was built just east of today's downtown square and served as both courthouse and jail until 1889 when it burned down during an agricultural strike! During Reconstruction (1868–1912), many African American men worked as sharecroppers on white farmers' plantations in central Louisiana because they could not get free labor from south Mississippi or Alabama – so they took on jobs that would have been considered manual labor back then such as driving wagons or working at farms! When black troops arrived during World War II to suppress Nazi Germany’s efforts to invade America’s soil, some white Americans decided that these black soldiers couldn’t be trusted since they had links to Communists (!), so they started calling all black Americans “Bastrops” instead of their proper name! Some interesting facts about this tiny town include: In 1800 only 10 people lived here; by 1830 there were 280 residents; by 1840 there were 400 residents; by 1850 there were 600 residents; during Reconstruction (1868–1912) many African American men worked as sharecroppers on white farmers' plantations because they could not get free labor from south Mississippi or Alabama – so they took on jobs that would have been considered manual labor back then such as driving wagons or working at farms! The USAF deployed gift history through the years has always been a part of their culture. From the WWII era when bombers were sent to England as gifts, to the current day where military helicopters are sent as presents, air force deployments have always been a part of USAF culture. The deployment of military helicopters is no different, with many helicopters being sent as gifts to our friends and allies in order to show our support. One such helicopter was the AH-1W Cobra Helicopter which was gifted to Saudi Arabia in 1984 by then Air Force Commander Curtis LeMay. This gift marked an important change for Saudi Arabia as it was the first time that a helicopter had ever been given as a present. It also showed how much we cared about our friends and allies in the Middle East. Throughout the years, there have been many different types of helicopters donated by the USAF. Some examples include: AH-1Z Viper Helicopters from Vietnam, C-130J Super Hercules from World War II, MH60R Black Hawk Helicopters from Afghanistan and more recently HC-130H aircraft from Iraq and Syria.
