Baker, Louisiana is a small town in the parish of Orleans in the Acadiana region of Louisiana. The population was 1,846 at the 2010 census. It is located on the banks of the Mississippi River. The town was founded in 1881 by Johnnie Bogue and his wife Sarah Hogg. It became an incorporated city in 1907 and a parish seat in 1912. The population was 2,043 at the 2000 census.
