In Alexandria, Louisiana, the United States Air Force has a long and storied history of giving gifts. From donating planes to serve in World War II to providing support for Operation Desert Storm, the USAF has been involved in many historical moments. One such moment was when it donated four F-4 Phantom jets to the EgyptAir Flight 990 tragedy. The planes had been stored at an air force base in Louisiana since the early 1990s and were needed for a military exercise that took place on October 24th, 1991. EgyptAir Flight 990 crashed into Mt Sinai after takeoff from Cairo International Airport, killing all 224 passengers and crew. The donation by the USAF helped improve relations between Egypt and the United States and demonstrated America's support for its ally during difficult times.
On January 12, 2006, the Air Force announced that it would be providing a gift to the National Football League (NFL) in recognition of the 2007 season. The gift is called "The Patriot," and is a new air-to-air missile system which will be housed in an Airbus A330 aircraft. The Patriots are designed to shoot down enemy planes over land or sea by using radar and inertial guidance systems. They have been used by the Air Force for several years now, but this will be their first deployment with an NFL team. The Patriot was developed by Lockheed Martin and is currently beingtested by the Air Force's 4th Missile Wing at Holloman AFB, New Mexico.

Alexandria, Louisiana is a city in Monroe County, Louisiana, United States. The population was 25,386 at the 2010 census. Alexandria is the county seat of Monroe County. It is located on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River and straddles the border between Jefferson and Orleans counties. The city's name comes from Alexandrina, an ancient Egyptian princess who married King Ptolemy I of Egypt in 233 BC. The first settler in what would become Alexandria was Nicholas Biddle in 1810. Biddle had come downriver to claim land grants from General Andrew Jackson for his family's wagon trade connections with the area. In 1815, John Duryea established a small ferry service across the river for transportation goods back and forth between Alexandria and Natchez (then known as Vicksburg). Duryea named his business "Duryea's Ferry". He also built a warehouse and store on Commerce Street near present-day Washington Avenue in 1819 which became known as Duryea's Warehouse Building today. In 1830, James Kenedy bought 3 lots adjoining those of Robert Hoggs west of Old Hammond Court House (now part of downtown) for $200 apiece to build a town site that would eventually include all or part of what are now Fairfax Drive (northwest corner), Arlington Drive (southwest corner), Northwest Boulevard (east corner), Interstate 10 exit 234A (now I-10 exit 281), Eastern Boulevard (west corner), and parts of what are now Sawmill Road/Old Hammond Court House Road/Mallory Avenue/New Orleans Avenue east of Interstate 10 exit 234B/Old Hammond Court House Road northward to Harris Bluff Road where he founded Kenedy Landing on November 8th 1830 by erecting two poles bearing his name at right angles to each other about 12 feet apart; this landing continued into current day renamed Bayou des Ursules after Marie Antoinette's home along bayou Des Ursules just south side old Hammond Courthouse building where Ulysses S Grant lived during World War II when he served as Commandant General US Army Ordnance Corps Reserve Center & Supply Depot The first white person killed in Alexandria was William Compton aboard HMS Beagle while exploring off Louisiana coast on October 14th 1821 when Compton got into trouble with some natives off Pointe aux Herbes Island east coast

Alexandria, LA is a city located in the Parish of Alexandria, Louisiana. The population was 709 at the 2010 census. The city is one of the most important in the area because it is home to several modern day universities and hospitals as well as many businesses and other businesses. The area that would become Alexandria was first settled by Caddo Indians in 1719. In 1836, it was designated as a seat of government for what would become Orleans County. On December 12, 1868, Alexandria became a part of New Orleans and its boundaries were adjusted to include all of what now makes up Alexandria including parts of nearby Metairie and Slidell. In 1916-1917, during World War I, when much of Louisiana Normandy was fought on or near Alexandria's borders numerous civilian casualties occurred due to unexploded ordnance left over from the war which still remains an issue today. One such unexploded mine killed 22 people in 1917 when it detonated under a streetlight near Northwest Ninth Street & Canal Street. Although not directly attributable to Alexan
