The National Guard of the United States was started on July 15, 1790 by President George Washington as a militia to help protect the nation from internal and external threats. The first unit was organized at Fort Pitt in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. In 1812, the National Guard was created for service in Mexico during the War of 1812. Between 1821 and 1850, the number of National Guardsmen increased exponentially due to increasing instability in America and abroad. In 1861, Kentucky became a state and the 1st regiment of Kentucky Volunteers was raised there. It served until 1865 when it merged with other units to form the 5th Regiment Kentucky Volunteer Infantry. The 4th regiment (located in Radcliff) also served from 1861-1865 but never joined up with any other regiment because its members wereizuited into Confederate forces during that time period. On November 15, 1924, President Calvin Coolidge signed an act which authorized gifts for national guard units from private citizens within each state. This legislation allowed citizens to donation items such as uniforms or jewelry that could be used by their local unit or donated to create a museum or education center dedicated to honoring those who have serve our country through military service. Radcliff has been home to two final Army Reserve battalions; one mobilized in 1942 as part of World War II and another mobilized in 1994 as part of Operation Desert Storm/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom/Iraq New Year’s Eve Offensive). These battalion titles have inspired many local businesses throughout town name after them; these are: 3rd Battalion Army Reserve (1942), 4th Battalion Army Reserve (1994), 5th Battalion Army Reserve (1982-1998), etc.). The city government has been working hard since early 2016 to renovate all three public buildings inside the city limits—the jail, court house, and library—to make them more accessible and interactive with visitors including children who may not be able to visit these places otherwise because they are closed for renovation projects during certain times periods such as school hours or special events like Fourth Of July celebrations!

The Kentucky National Guard was organized on December 12, 1861. The first commander of the National Guard was Colonel John Bell. He served until May 1865 when he resigned due to ill health. The first unit to be activated was Company A at Louisville, Kentucky on December 5, 1861. Company A fought in the battles of Perryville and Fort Donelson. On January 1, 1862 Colonel John Hatton assumed command of Company B from Colonel Bell. On February 3, 1862 Captain George Patton was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and took command of Company C. On March 21 Captain Patton was promoted to Major General and became Commander-in-Chief of the Kentucky National Guard on April 2nd . In November 1862 Captain Patton relinquished his command to Brigadier General James Hardee who continued as Commanding Officer until October 1863 when he sold his brigade to General Andrew Johnson for use by the Union army in the American Civil War. On July 14th 1864 Major General Patton arrived in Radcliff with a regiment from Louisville under orders to support General Philip Sheridan’s Campaign against Confederate forces near Danville KY This campaign is known as Vicksburg Campaign because it lasted from July 14 thru September 4th 1864
Radcliff is a small town located in Johnson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 527 at the 2010 census. Radcliff was founded in 1859 by Andrew Radcliffe and his wife Elizabeth. The original store and post office were both built in 1865. In 1892, the first school opened in Radcliff. It was the only school in town until 1974 when a new school building was constructed. The town has experienced severalrowth rates over the years including a population increase of 507 from 2000 to 2010 and an increase of 375 from 1990 to 2000. Since 2000, there have also been significant growth rates for housing units with a population density of 1,500 people or more per square mile (600/km²). The economy of Radcliff is based largely on farming which employs about 70% of the local workforce. Other industries that have contributed to the economy include manufacturing, service industry, and tourism. There are also several agricultural businesses operating in the town which provide jobs for local residents. -In addition to its primary economic activity being farming, Radcliff also has other secondary industries such as manufacturing and service sector jobs
The National Guard Gift History begins with the Revolutionary War. The Connecticut and Rhode Island militias were called up to fight in the war, and a total of 1,500 men volunteered their services. This was an important step in creating national guard units as a critical part of the American Revolution. After the Revolutionary War, many new states were formed, and so it was necessary for each state to call forth its own militia unit to protect its citizens from possible attack by other states or foreign forces. The Pennsylvania National Guard was mobilized on November 8th, 1776 in response to this situation. The first national guard unit to be activated under President George Washington was organized on December 12th, 1776 at Fort Necessity in New York City. The 3rd Infantry Regiment became known as the “Good Samaritans” because they responded diligently to emergency calls from civilians throughout Manhattan during the early days of the American Revolution. In 1802, Congress passed an act authorizing members of state militias who had served in wartime with distinction or who had distinguished themselves through meritorious service to render voluntary military aid against either internal insurrection or civil disorders within their respective states; such assistance could be offered only by companies not exceeding fifty strong per battalion (i.e., no more than three officers and twenty-five men). When Ohio declares her independence from Great Britain on November 15th 1812, her militia is activated along with all other U.S.] state militias across America by President James K Polk along with orders from General Andrew Jackson that any soldier found looting public property will have his balls taken away! In 1861 when America becomes Confederate States Of America there is immediate activation of all state militias across America including our National Guard! Our guardsmen man districts throughout south Carolina leading up to battle at Bull Run! We enter into combat July 20th 1862 after two years of planning and hard work!

Radcliff was founded by an old man named John Radcliffe in 1795. The town quickly grew to become a popular stop on the Underground Railroad. After the American Revolution, Radcliff became part of Kentucky. The town's rich history includes its role as a center for cotton production and its many famous residents, such as Representative John C. Calhoun and author; Ulysses S. Grant. Radcliff is also known for its annual Great Pumpkin Festival, which features both local and international attractions.
The name Radcliff comes from a grants of land to the town in 1814. The first settler was Samuel Cline, who built a cabin on the hill in 1815. In 1820, RADCliff had a post office and tavern. It was also the site of one of the first school districts in Kentucky. The townsite was renamed Radcliff after Major General James H. Radcliffe, Commandant of Military District No. 3 in western Kentucky during the American Civil War (1861-1865).
