Mount Washington Coffee is a family-owned and operated business in the town of Mount Washington, Kentucky, since 1969. The coffee house has been a popular spot for locals and tourists alike to enjoy a cup of joe since that time. The Mount Washington Coffee Company was founded by John and Cynthia (Miller) Fenton. John had been working as a truck driver for UBS in Switzerland when he decided to move to Kentucky to pursue his dreams of owning his own coffee shop. He met Cynthia at an event organized by Friends of the Environment in nearby Bowling Green, Kentucky, and they started dating. After moving back home to Mt. Washington, they opened their first café, which served robusto coffee with added cream, sugar, and cinnamon. They continued expanding the business over time, opening more cafés across the United States before finally settling in Mount Washington – where they currently operate – in 1969. In 2016, the company celebrated its 50th anniversary with a variety of events including live music and prizefights among friends from around the world who came to taste their beans firsthand!

The first coffeehouse on the site served coffee to area farmers and soldiers on horseback. In 1896, the company began producing its own beans, which became popular among specialty coffee enthusiasts. In 1922, the company was purchased by Peet's Coffee Corporation.

In 1811 Major General John Knox sent a detachment to investigate reports that an Indian chief named Robert Easley had fled up Mount Washington with a force of 150 men after defeating British forces at Warrantsville Ridge near present-day Springfield, Missouri. The general estimated that it would take 10 days for all his troops to reach him should he be found thereabouts Once upon a time there was another mountain called Mount Washington which was much higher than this one now known as Mount Washington in Kentucky. This mountain was so high it could be seen from space! But then something happened which made this mountain become lower down on our planet earth! And this thing we know as erosion! So because of this happening to our once mighty mountaintop, people started coming here just for tourism purposes instead of looking at what used to be such an amazing place! Today you can find many different places around town where you can buy tickets to go up onto Mt Washington or even walk around it but if you want to climb it yourself – sorry not anymore! Just like any other big rocks out there – when people get too close they start carving into it with their hands making little tunnels etc., so if you happen to find yourself within easy reach thereof I suggest discretion
The first time coffee was brewed in a cup, it was for military purposes. In the 14th century Italian soldiers would brew their own coffee, which they called "espresso." The espresso machine was used to make small cups of coffee and then put them into soldier's Valdosta pouches (bags) to be taken with them on battlefields. Later, engineers took up the challenge of brewing coffee in a way that could be enjoyed by civilians as well. One such engineer was Giovanni Battista Moro, who designed and built the first commercial espresso machine in 1798. Coffee began to be consumed by people of all walks of life throughout Europe, North America and South Asia. Coffee became popularized in America during the Revolutionary War because General George Washington needed a drink after battle. He ordered two pots of coffee from an Italian café owner named Giovanni Pacini. The popularity of espresso continued through the 19th century when machines became easier to create and brewers found other ways to add flavorings such as chocolate or orange juice. However, espresso remained popular until it was replaced by instant coffee in 1971.
