Lyndon is a small town in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. It was founded in 1819 by John Fetterman and his wife Catharine. The town grew rapidly during the 1800s, thanks to its location on the Cumberland River and its access to trading routes. In 1826, Lyndon became the first town in Hardin County to be chartered as a township. In 1861, it became an independent parish when Bishop James Hennepin donated land for a church and school. The early history of coffee is intertwined with that of Lyndon. A Dutchman named Hendrick de Vries developed what would become the most common type of coffee beans used in brewing: ground beans roasted over an open fire or pan on an open hearthstone called "the roasting oven." This process yielded a strong flavor and robust texture that has been retained through various changes in processing techniques over time. By 1860, local farmers had begun growing coffee plants on their properties around Lyndon. Coffee production continued unabated until 1885 when rail transportation made it possible to market coffee more efficiently outside of America's traditional centers of trade & production. With this change came increased competition from other crops such as sugar cane and cotton) which caused prices for coffee to rise sharply throughout the late 19th century-leading to mass layoffs for workers at plantations throughout America due to economic conditions beyond their control

In 2012, LBJ was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama.
Lyndon was founded by a group of men in 1859. The town was named after General Robert E. Lee, who had commanded the Confederate forces at the Battle of Gettysburg.
