Elizabethtown is a small town in Kentucky, located on the Cumberland River. The name of the town was given to it by General Andrew Jackson, who named it for his wife, Elizabeth. In 1812, the first coffee beans were roasted in Elizabethtown and since then, the town has been a major producer of coffee. The first coffee beans were roasted in 1812 by George Washington Smith and he sold them at his store in Elizabethtown. For many years until about 1870, most of the coffee grown in Kentucky was processed here at Elizabethtown. The millstones that are still used to grind out coffee today were originally brought over from Spain in 1795. In 1871, however, starting with a shipment from Brazil, the first commercial espresso machine was sent to Kentucky and began making large quantities of quality espresso for local restaurants and cafes. During World War II (1939-1945), much of what we now know as crow's nest Coffee was produced here at Elizabethtown as part of munitions production. After the war ended, many jobs went away as new technology replaced older ones such as manufacturing and transportation. However, there continues to be significant demand for Crow’s Nest Coffee due to its unique flavor profile which set it apart from other types of coffeebeans

Elizabethtown, Kentucky is a small town in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, located in the southeastern part of the state. The population was 1,992 at the 2010 census. Elizabethtown is known for its bourbon distillery and for being home to Bard College. The town was founded by Nicholas Trimble in 1814 as an agricultural community on the eastern side of Bardstown (now Louisville) County. In 1827, Trimble sold his share of the town to Andrew Johnson and others who had purchased it from him. The town became a county seat in 1836 and remained so until 1792 when it was moved to Elizabethtown proper. Bourbon production began in Elizabethtown in 1814 by Nicholas Trimble who built a distillery there on land he acquired from John Sevier. The first batch of bourbon was distilled here on October 14, 1815. The distillery operated until 1840 when it was destroyed by fire. Later that year, Jameson & Trimble bought out Nicholas Trimble's interest and continued production at their own distillery which still operates today under that name. In 1862, Confederate General Robert Ewell visited Elizabethtown while campaigning against Union forces near Louisville and decided to stay there overnight instead of continuing his journey southward as planned. This event is generally considered to be the beginning of bourbon's popularity within America due to this single appearance by a Confederate general during wartime. The Distilleries Act (1892), passed by Congress following prohibition efforts across America, made Scotch-bourbon whiskey legal throughout most of America except for areas where prohibition was in effect; such as Delaware and Maryland where Scotch-bourbon whisky remained illegal even after repeal legislation occurred statewide).Elizabethtown therefore lost its status as a county seat but continued to operate as an agricultural community with some manufacturing activities such as shoe making until 1957 when all manufacturing operations were closed down due to competition from other states' liquor laws becoming more restrictive with respect to wines/whiskey production than ever before! After years of decline however, Bard College reopened its doors full time in 2001 thanks largely to funding provided through the warmedover program initiated by then Governor Sonny Perdue! Today Bard University has become one of Lexington's top employers with over 2200 employees including many graduates OF THE UNIVERSITY!!! It should come As no surprise then that since Independence Day we have seen increased tourism levels with many people "coming down" just “to visit” not only our Distilleries but also our beautiful city which now boasts over 25 blocks long center mall complete With restaurants And nightlife!!!

By 1830, Elizabethtown had over 100 residents and grew even more when the Kentucky State Railroad was built through the area. The town soon became an important center for trade and commerce. It also became home to several businesses and homes that were used by various families until the late 1800s. In 1912, Elizabethtown hosted its first annual fair which attracted many vendors and visitors from all over Kentucky. The fair continued until 1949. Despite its growth,Elizabethtown never forgot its roots as a small agricultural community with few resources. Over time, however, some of the town's most famous residents have come to live there including author James Baldwin and singer Belle & Sebastian。In 2012, Elizabethtown inducted into the Kentucky Historical Society’s National Register of Historic Places two buildings – First Presbyterian Church (1824) and Second Presbyterian Church (1886). These buildings are now part of the downtown core of Elizabethtown where they serve as museum/cultural heritage preserves 。
