The Salina Air Force Base Museum is home to one of the most significant collections of airforce gifts in the United States. This museum has over 100 items from all over the world that have been donated to the base. From WWII era fighter planes, to air superiority weapons like bombers and missiles, the Salina AFB Museum has something for everyone. The collection also includes objects from local businesses and individuals who donated their time or money to support military activity at Salina AFB. One of the most interesting pieces in the museum is a 1942 Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter plane. This aircraft was donated by an individual named Eben Stearns. When it was first brought to Salina AFB, it was used for training pilots before being given to the Kansas Air National Guard as part of Operation Dixie. Today, this airplane remains on display at Salina AFB and is a popular attraction for visitors looking for an aviation history lesson. Another important piece in this museum is a 1944 B-24 Liberator bomber donated by Mrs. Harry Woldenberg of Wichita, Kansas! This bomber had become lost during World War II and was found by accident by members of the staff at salina afb Museum when they were cleaning out old records! With its new owner, this bomber became a popular tourist destination on campus for students studyingaircraft history!

Salina, Kansas is a city in Saline County, Kansas, United States. The population was 5,812 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous city within the Shawnee National Forest. The first European to explore and map what is now Salina was Jehu Usher on July 4, 1814 when he entered the present-day town of Salina from Topeka. When Wichita was founded by James Hennepin on August 12, 1825 it became the capital of Shawnee County which includes present day Salina. On February 14th 1861 during the American Civil War Union forces under General George Armstrong Custer attacked and destroyed an Indian village at Poston Creek near today's downtown Salina killing all nineteen residents including six children. The resulting scandal led to Arizona Territorial Governor John Wickersham vetoing a bill granting Independence to Kansas Territory effective March 15th 1861 making Fort Riley (later Topeka) the new territorial capital of Kansas Territory In 1867 Ignatius Donnelly established a mission station called Mission Trails in what is now south central Salina and in 1870 built a log cabin for himself and eight others on land that still stands just east of downtown today as part of what would become his Rancho de San Miguel de Allende which became one of the largest ranches and botanical gardens in America Mission Trails soon gave way to Mexico Christian School which moved into its current building on Main Street in 1909 after serving as an annex for nearby McCourtney School until it closed in 1971 . In 1907 Lillian Hellman began teaching school here before moving to her current location across Main Street from Mission Trails where she currently teaches high school mathematics In 1916 Doña Ana Kolda organized a women's suffrage group named "The Women's Republican Club" promising that if they could get enough signatures they would put up a political sign at City Hall reading "Vote Democratic." They eventually succeeded with more than 1,000 signatures but did not put up any signage because they were worried about being arrested . As time went on other groups formed such as "The American Legion Auxiliary" who also promised to vote but never followed through . Civic leaders decided by 1917 that enough progress had been made so they erected an antenna atop City Hall permitting radio reception so voters could be informed about their candidates without having to go out there Due largely to World War I food shortages due to Nutrient Deficiency Disorder (NDP) brought about by Europe’s Great Depression no elections were held until early 1934 when Mayor Harry Sibley announced plans for local primary elections November 3rd 1933 with only 50 citizens registered On December 2nd 1933 Vice President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered his famous broadcast from Peoria Illinois announcing that “the national emergency has arisen because of your lack of faith in democracy” This action set off waves throughout America initiating efforts such as FDR's New Deal with programs like Social Security and Medicare Legislation being passed over time

Salina is a town in Kansas, United States. It was founded in 1867 by Mormon settlers and was named after the Salinas River. The population of Salina grew rapidly during the late 19th century and early 20th century, reaching over 100,000 by 1920. The post-World War II growth halted as the economy transitioned from manufacturing to services. However, Salina has since resumed its growth and now has a population of over 125,000. The salinas cotton gin located in Salina was built in 1892 by LDS members who owned or leased it from the Indian Land Company. The first cotton gin in what is now Kansas was built at Emporia by Mormons in 1855. Cotton production reached its peak around 1910 because of advancements made by farmers such as James Fenton and John Sibley with new fertilizers and irrigation systems that improved yields for cotton farmers. However, World War I caused a significant decline in cotton production due to戦争、the war led to increased competition from other crops such as wheat and corn which became more affordable thanks to advances in transportation technology. In 1922 the salinas cotton gin closed due to economic reasons but reopened four years later under new management with help from local businesses including banks, insurance companies, lumberyards, grocery stores and restaurants along with government support through a loan program known as "The Girdle". On July 16, 1861, the first session of the Kansas Territorial Legislature was held in Salina. The legislature authorized the creation of a new state and passed an act organizing it as Kansas. On January 3, 1862, the first official act of Kansas was accomplished when Governor John W. Geary became its first governor.
