Five of those arrested were tried and convicted but one guilty verdict was overturned on appeal; this man served time in prison before being released on parole in 1978. As of 2010, there are three schools within Parsons: one public school, one private school (known as "Oak View Elementary"), and two charter schools (one for students with special needs). There are also two churches: First Presbyterian Church of Parsons OPK-1021 & Second Baptist Church of Parsons KHS-901 both located within walking distance of each other providing pastoral care to residents along with educational opportunities for their children through high school curriculums overseen by respective denominations

In 1928 Harry Allman Sr., his wife Nellie, their son Harry Jr., daughter Jeannie Allman Weisner, husband Bob Norvell (the future president of The University of Kansas), Harold Krumm (a local grain buyer), John Atherton (the future mayor of Topeka) and others purchased the cabin and began to build a permanent village there. In 1951 topographer Ralph Laughlin developed an outline map which showed that Parsons had been located east-southeastward along State Highway 151 since at least 1886 when he recorded route information for that year in his book "A History Of Sedgwick County"
