Five of those arrested were tried and convicted but one guilty verdict was overturned on appeal; this man served time in prison before being released on parole in 1978. As of 2010, there are three schools within Parsons: one public school, one private school (known as "Oak View Elementary"), and two charter schools (one for students with special needs).
