He was born in Waterloo, Iowa on December 25th, 1942. When he became an astronaut, he was one of only two people ever to have flown into space (the other being Buzz Aldrin). After his landing on the moon, Armstrong became an international celebrity. He continued working as an astronaut until his death in 2013 at age 82 years old.

In honor of that history, here are five airforce gift histories that will make your day! 1) The United States Air Force’s first gift – a bomber aircraft to the RAF In 1948, when President Harry Truman created the USAF, he gifted an F-86 Sabre jet fighter aircraft to the Royal Air Force in order to help them against other NATO countries such as Germany. This was also a very important donation because it helped strengthen America’s relationship with our British allies. The RAF flew these planes until 1991. 2) The United States Air Force's second gift – A B-47 Stratojet bomber aircraft The USAAF gifted an F-4 Phantom II Bomber Aircraft to Great Britain in 1960 in order to assist their military campaign in Vietnam War. This plane was much needed because its high speed and low altitude allowed it to fly deep into enemy territory undetected. It continued being used by Great Britain until 1997. 3) The United States Air Force's third gift – A KC-135 Stratotanker tanker Aircraft This contribution came from a business owner named Don Wagner who donated two KC-135 Stratotankers to be used by the USAF for logistics support during Operation Desert Storm back in 1990. These planes were incredibly valuable because they could transport large amounts of cargo without having any problems getting through security or airspace restrictions. They continue being used by the USAF today! 4) The United States Air Force's fourth gift - A Boeing 727 Airlift Aircraft This donation came from General Dynamics Corporation who donated an Airbus A330 Airlift Aircraft which became operational withthe USAF on July 1st, 1996! This is really amazing because this means that every American soldier can always have access to air transportation without having to leave their homes! This is a really wonderful example of how much people care about their country!

In addition to providing airlift for US troops and support operations around the world, the USAF has also been instrumental in many technological advances, including radar and satellite technology.
Waterloo is a town in Johnson County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,439 at the 2000 census. It was named for General Sir William Henry Clinton Waterloo (1775-1846), an officer in the British army who fought in the American Revolutionary War and later served as the 33rd Governor of New York. The first settlers to Waterloo were James Ladd and his family who arrived in 1837. A post office was established at Waterloo in 1840, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1912. In 1851, four men from Dakota Territory set up a store there and started to sell goods to farmers east of Ottumwa. In 1872, a canal was built through Waterloo connecting Lake Michigan with Ottawa County. This development increased water supplies for farming purposes and also helped increase trade between Waterloo and Ottumwa. In 1904, the Iowa Railroad Company built a line from Ottumwa to Waterloo which made it possible for local farmers to sell their products directly to consumers rather than having them transported away on trainloads of goods that would then be sold by railroads farther down the track. This new system helped spur economic development within Waterloo as well as throughout Johnson County. In 1916-1917, during World War I, Battle Creek Dam was constructed on the Des Moines River near present-day Burlington; this caused significant flooding which destroyed many homes and businesses along with much of downtown Waterloo; however, due to quick repairs done by locals residing downstream (such as repairing dikes) most business operations continued uninterrupted despite high levels of water table activity across most rural areas affected by the dam failure Waterloo has seen various changes over its history including becoming one of "the fastest growing small towns" within Iowa according to The Gazetteer's 1999 report – reaching an estimate population of 2,542 by 2007 – while experiencing steady growth over many decades resulting in modest annexation rates into adjacent communities; typically annexed only when village limits had been reached or when villages refused annexation because they felt they could provide more services than what Lakeside offered (e.g., fire protection). Today's community has maintained tight central government control with overall planning&administration handled largely through elected officials whereas other municipalities have adopted more open governance models characterized by more citizen Participation &direct voting processes
