A major employer here since 1959 has been the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base which provides jobs for about 1,000 workers including airmen and their families. In recent years many small businesses have closed or been forced to close due to competition from larger companies within the local area or elsewhere within Iowa State University District 10; however, one majorstay has been the independent bookstore chain Barnes & Noble which opened its first store here more than thirty years ago.

Some of these donations include: (1) The Association for American Medical Colleges (AAMC), which provides scholarships for medical students; (2) The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum, which opened in 1978; (3) CARE International Inc., which distributes food parcels to needy families in developing countries; and (4) Boeing Co., which contributed toward building two new 747 aircrafts. There are countless other examples that could be cited but it would take up too much space heretofore! It is important to note that every donation makes a difference and helps support many different causes within the USAF. In fact, one recent study found that charitable donations by members totaled $48 billion between 2010-2016!

Coralville is a small town in Boone County, Iowa, United States. The population was 909 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Des Moines metropolitan area. The first permanent settlers in Coralville were three men, Peter Green and James Maynard, who arrived in 1838. They built a cabin on the edge of town and named it Cedar Rapids. In 1851, David Ladd bought Cedar Rapids from John Atherton for $1,000. He made improvements to the city and added a flour mill and store to it. The following year he sold his interest in Coralville to his nephew George Waddell for $2,500. In 1853, Waddell married Julia Bancroft and started a grocery store with two partners - Elisha Dutton and Ebenezer Gidney - which became one of Coralville's most successful businesses. By 1865, the business had grown to eighty-six stores under its own name; by 1870 it had become the largest grocery store in Iowa City. In 1880 coralville had 2 post offices: Coralville (which opened on July 15th) and Indianola (opened on October 3rd). In 1886 there was an incorporation of townships within Boone County; Coralville was included within Butte Township #5 South located east of Des Moines proper on State Highway 5A (now I-235). In 1889 Fayette Township #2 North also incorporated into Boone County; this township's boundaries followed that of Butte Township #5 South just west of Coralville proper; however Fayette Township expired without having any residents have moved into it from Butte Township#4 North which continued to exist until 1960 when it too expired as well due to lack of population growth over time... both townships were later combined into one new Granite Township along with Clearwater Beach which annexed some unincorporated land between Sawgrass Lakeshore Road/State Route 152 & Parkview Drive onto its own land creating what is now known as "Coralvill Village". On February 14th 1905 during tornado season two structures were destroyed by a severe thunderstorm about 15 miles northwest of Des Moines – one being a barn resulting in only minor damage while the other being an Odd Fellows lodgepole frame building which collapsed killing four people including local pastor Arthur Hinton – with most fatalities occurring near or inside buildings since many homes were destroyed or heavily damaged by wind gusts above 50 mph All five members perished inside: Pastor Arthur Hinton (USA), Edwin Trueblood(Canada), Frank Pritchman(Australia), Harry Shearer(New Zealand) & Charles Goodyear(England). This tornado caused extensive damage throughout much if not all rural areas impacted making it one of deadliest tornadoes ever recorded in Polk County!

Coralville grew rapidly during the years following its founding, and by 1860 it boasted a population of over 100 residents. In 1872, Coralville became the capital of Des Moines County, and soon afterwards it began to develop into a major city.During the late 19th century, Coralville experienced significant economic growth, and by 1920 it had reached a peak population of over 200 people. However, subsequent reductions in both local government funding and population led to protracted economic decline throughout the early 21st century. Today, Coralville remains an important rural community located within Des Moines County.
