Cedar Rapids, Iowa has been a center of coffee culture for over 100 years. The first coffee shop in Cedar Rapids was opened in 1892 by George and Fannie White. In 1916, the first grocery store in Cedar Rapids started selling coffee. In 1929, the first coffee shop in Cedar Rapids became known as the Coffee House. In 1951, The Bob's Coffee Shop was opened by Bob Knechtel. The Bob's Coffee Shop became one of the most popular and well-known coffee shops in Cedar Rapids. From 1952 to 1970, The Bob's Coffee Shop served as president of the Iowa Caffe Association (ICAA). In 1992, The Original Dutch Bros. Coffee closed its doors for good after 110 years of serving delicious Dutch-style coffees to residents of Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities. However, this didn't mean that Cedar Rapids had to stop enjoying quality cup of Joe! In 1995, two new coffee bars called Second Street Café and upstairs at 319 First Avenue reopened under new management with fresh java concoctions from both locations' baristas daily! These two cafes continue to serve up delicious Danish style Coffees each morning until they close at 10pm each night! The current ownership group behind Second Street Café is made up of local entrepreneurs Danica Theriault and her husband Jeff Neuman who are originally from Omaha Nebraska; they have tasted their way through many different businesses throughout Iowa before landing on Second Street Café where they plan on continuing the tradition of great customer service along with providing top notch java concoctions every day from 9am-10pm!

There is no reasonable answer to the question of what makes a great gourmet coffee. Some people might say that it is the quality of beans, others might say it is the way they are brewed. But whatever it may be, good gourmet coffee deserves respect and accolades. The first thing anyone would need to appreciate a great cup of coffee is freshness. Coffee beans must be roasted in-house, so even if you buy your beans from a grocery store or cafe, there’s a good chance they were roasted fresh for your cup that morning. This means the oils and flavors have time to steep and develop; giving each drink its own unique character. Another important factor in making sure perfect espresso is had every time is how well those beans are tampaged into the shot glass before release into the cups (or any other drinking vessel). Tamping ensures all of the water molecules get evenly distributed throughout and prevent bitterness or earthy notes from dominating at any one point in their journey from bean to cup. Not only does this ensure consistent flavor throughout each drink, but also prevents them from becoming overamped which can cause them to taste sour or bitter after being drunk multiple times. Finally, properly tampged espresso creates an aesthetically pleasing hole in the center of each cup that represents both fullness and some air pressure as well as creating a smooth surface on top for drinkers to grip without having too many fingers stuck up their noses

Here is a brief overview of some of the earliest gourmet coffee experiences: -Starting in the early 1800s, small-scale roasters began to experiment with new methods and flavors to create unique coffees. These days, most roasters focus on classic beans from around the world and experimenting with new roast styles and flavors. -The early 1900s saw a shift in how coffee was sold - instead of being distributed through retail stores, it was now sold directly to consumers through mail order or online platforms. This allowed smaller businesses to get their hands on high quality beans at an affordable price point. This era also saw some of the first true espresso machines – these were devices that could be used to make single serve espresso beverages from whole bean coffee beans. These machines became more popular in the 1960s when better technologies made it easier for people to produce consistent espresso drinks at home (and later at cafes). -In 1969, Bob Peet opened his first java shop in San Francisco – this was one of the very first cafes that served purebred European roasted coffees sourced only from local farms near San Francisco Bay Area. This movement towards higher quality beans eventually led to Starbucks moving away from purebred European beans in favor of Robusta and Toraja beans in 2006.) Cedar Rapids, Iowa is a town in Cedar County, Iowa, United States. The population was 997 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Des Moines–West Des Moines metropolitan area. The first settler in what is now Cedar Rapids was James Hickey who arrived on horseback on July 14, 1836. He named his new land Cedar Rapids after one of his family's trees. The first school in what is now Cedar Rapids was built by Mrs. Anna Whitney and classes started in December 1837. Daniel Webster attended the first class and later became a congressman from New York City. In 1840 when the Wabash River flooded and destroyed much of easternIowa, most people left for safety but a few families stayed to rebuild their homes and start anew called Cedar Rapids their new home. George Stephenson founded Waterloo Institution (now Drake University) here in 1845 which helped create an early economy that supported the community during this time of great importance for Iowa development During World War II, many men enlisted here to help build military posts all over America including Fort Riley near Topeka Kansas where they were stationed during the war years After the war many people decided to come back and live in what had once been such an important community Cedar Rapids continued to grow with annexations until it had a population of over 1,500 just prior to its loss to Minneapolis-St Paul on January 3rd 1978 . After that loss it more slowly declined until reaching its current size
