The Iowa Air National Guard has a long and proud history of deploying gift baskets to individuals and organizations in the state. The service has spent many years providing unique and memorable gifts that have helped make their local community a better place. One of the most recent deployments took place in Cedar Falls, Iowa on December 17th, 2016. This was an Airmen Gift History deployment for the 1st Lt. Col. Christopher “Chris” Ladd, USAF (Ret). Chris is currently serving as Commander of Air Force Deployed Troops at Lackland AFB, TX and this deployment was his first as Commanding Officer for Airmen Gift History Squadron 5986. The Wing activated its Airmen Gift History Squadron in 1994 as part of the Defense Logistics Agency reorganization effort. At that time it consisted of 7 enlisted members from the wing’s command staff who delivered baskets to DoD installations throughout central Iowa while also conducting public displays at various events. In 2000, squadron membership grew to 14 enlisted members with responsibility for delivering baskets to military branches located throughout eastern Iowa including West Des Moines, Ankeny and Cedar Rapids; as well as distributing gift cards to area businesses during Christmas season. The Wing participated in Operation presents for Kids which raised over $5,000 for children’s charities across central Iowa during 2015-2016 through fundraising efforts led by Enlisted Members Unit 5986 along with support from Headquarters Air National Guard District 9 southwest IaowanaStrategic Regional Council Incorrect call unit 1516 [1]

Cedar Falls, Iowa is a small town in Cedar County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,504 at the 2010 census. Cedar Falls is part of the Des Moines metropolitan area. The river that runs through town forms the namesake of Cedar Falls and its industry - cedar lumbering - has been a mainstay of the community for decades. The first settlers in what would become Cedar Falls arrived in 1855 from Illinois. They built a log cabin on the east bank of Whitewater River and named their new settlement after the cedar trees that grew nearby. By 1860, when Cedar Falls was platted as a town, it had a population of around 100 people. The logging industry played an important role in early development of Cedar Falls and its surrounding areas; cedar lumber accounted for over 60% of all primary production in Iowa during 1800-1925. During World War II, Cedar Rapids became one of several U.S. cities to participate in bombings as part of Operation Torch (the Allied invasion of North Africa). On October 10th, 1944 – two days before launch – Mayor John LaFayette announced that "cities throughout America will be working together to help make sure Adolf Hitler is stopped" with lend-lease funds available for local governments to purchase bombing equipment from Boeing Aircraft Company's Chicago plant. This event helped bring about significant change to downtown Ramona since then – now known as "Boeing Plaza". Today’s economy largely depends on sectors such as health care and technology; however, manufacturing still plays an important role in local businesses with jobs located within walking distance from most residents’ homes or businesses
It is interesting to think about the air force deployments for gift history. There have been many, both small and large. One of the earliest was in 1947 when the USAF sent a detachment to Hong Kong as part of the United Nations Command. The delegation included officers and enlisted men from all over the world, including China and Taiwan. It was an important moment in USAF history because it demonstrated American support for UN Resolution 181, which called for Chinese Nationalist forces to withdrawal from Formosa (the then-British Colony). Since then there have been numerous deployments both local and global. In 2006, the United States deployed more than 1,000 military personnel to Poland in order to celebrate 60 years of Polish-American cooperation. In 2007, Department of Defense employees donated two brand new Boeing 737s as part of a holiday gift program with Air France. In 2010,United Airlines donated three tickets worth $2,500 each to be used during Operation Christmas Child. Additionally members of Congress frequently donate items or money for special deployments such as Operation Neptune’s Spear in Afghanistan or Christmas Tree Missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. There are several reasons why these deployments might be chosen for gift history: they can commemorate an event that happened within USAF itself; they are something that USAF members can enjoy themselves while Deploying; or they can represent significant progress made by USAF since World War II/Cold War era when gifts were often symbolic rather than practical matters like clothing or equipment (for example). One thing that is always interesting is how Gift History evolves over time based on what people want/need/want not available at home so this paper will focus on local deployments only until further evidence emerges pointing towards global deployments being popular across different branches within USAF!

The Air Force bestowed the name "The Gift of Giving" on a unit, the 511th Expeditionary Airlift Wing, which had been awarded the nation's first airlift squadron designation in 1992. The wing was then given the mission to provide global lift for United States embassies and other critical international missions through its C-130Js and KC-135Rs aircraft.
Cedar Falls is a town in Cedar County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,834 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cedar County. The name Cedar Falls comes from two streams that converge there: Ceder and Falla rivers. The first settlers in what is now Cedar Falls were farmers who came to the area in 1836. A post office was established in 1841, and by 1851, the town had developed into a small community with a store, blacksmith shop, and school. In 1854, an act of Congress designated Cedar Falls as the seat of government for all of Iowa. In 1865-1866, it served as capital of Dakota Territory before becoming part of Iowa when that state was admitted to the Union on January 15th, 1889. The early years of Cedar Falls were difficult due to its location on the edge of a vast Indian reservation where many people could not get land because it had been given away to other tribes or sold off to speculators. However, over time some settlers began to come and populate what is now Cedar Rapids and eventually building up a strong community around them. By 1890 most residents living in town were farmers or their families who operated either their own businesses or worked for larger farms outlying from town. One notable resident from this time period was James Waugh whose family ran one of the largest grocery stores in central Iowa until they closed down in 1984 Rolling Meadows Mall fame In 1906 local voters approved incorporation as a village with limits on business enterprise within Village boundaries only; this allowed for more commercial development outside Town lines which soon led to increased traffic congestion around Town square which became known locally as "Wrestling Ground" because so much business was conducted here during wrestling matches between locals and visiting wrestlers from out-of-town locations
Cedar Falls was founded in 1847 by General David O. Cedar and his wife, Esther. The town grew rapidly due to its natural resources, and by 1860 it had over 6,000 residents. In 1871, Cedar Falls became the capital of Iowa; the city prospered until World War II when it lost its status as a major center of industry. After the war, Cedar Falls experienced a period of growth and prosperity which ended in the late 1970s when development initiatives failed to produce results. Today, Cedar Falls is a small town with a population of around 1,500 people.
