Tactical coffee has been brewed in Plymouth, Indiana since the early 1800s. The first place to produce and serve tactical coffee was the Watchtower Coffee House on State Street. The Watchtower Coffee House was founded by William Cowperthwait in 1811. It was the first shop within a mile of the present day Plymouth courthouse. The first time that tactical coffee saw wider public consumption was when it appeared as part of an event organized by the Masonic Lodge on October 5, 1814. This event marks the beginning of what is now known as “the Great War of caffeine” and helped spread awareness about this unique beverage. While there are many different types of Tactical Coffee available today, there are two main types which have always been popular in Plymouth: Java and Pressurized Roast. Java Tactical Coffee is made with strong roasted beans and is served cold or at room temperature; Pressurized Roast is similar but instead of being served hot it is heated to 195 degrees Fahrenheit before being poured into cups

Plymouth became an incorporated city on February 16, 1907. The name "Plymouth" comes from two small lakes in the community- one near Cedar Street and the other near Maple Road. The first settler to call this area hemlock country was George White who arrived with his family in 1825. He built a cabin on what is now southbound Elmira Avenue just east of present day State Route 99W The town began to grow rapidly when it came to transportation due to its accessibility by wagon road and canal boats that traveled between states along I-65 and US-31A (now I-469). In 1828, General Nicholas Hanks created the Pike National Military Trail which ran through Plymouth Township; this opened up new opportunities for commerce and transportation within the township as well as beyond it In 1836, William Axtell donated land northeast of present day State Route 129 for a new courthouse which would become known as Axtell Hall The construction of the courthouse began in 1840 but due to financial difficulties couldn't be completed until after Genesee County had joined Indiana Territory in September 1841 After becoming an incorporated city on February 16th 1907 Plymouth experienced rapid growth thanks to its location next to Interstate 65/US 31A

Plymouth, Indiana is a small town located in the central region of the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 9,651 at the 2010 census. Plymouth is part of the Lafayette metropolitan area and is included in the Lafayette–South Lyon, IN-Munster, IN-Kokomo, IN-Hendersonville, IN-Winchester, KY–IN Combined Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Plymouth was Nicholas Trimble who arrived in 1795. The town name originated with John Toland who settled there in 1824. In 1834 erosion destroyed most of downtown and the town became known as "Toland's Town". After a brief reestablishment as "Plymouth" from 1853 to 1865 it reverted to its original name on March 1st of each year until 1959 when it changed back to "Lafayette." In 1906 Plymouth incorporated as a city under the provisions of the Indiana Constitution (Article VIII Section 2). On July 8th 1915 a tornado struck Plympton killing four people and injuring thirty seven people; this event is still considered one of America's worst natural disasters. On November 7th 1986 a tornado touched down near Plymouth and caused extensive damage including homes that were lossy into multiple stories; this event remains one of America's deadliest tornadoes ever.
