Noblesville, Indiana is a town of over 60,000 people and it has long been known for its police department. The department was established in 1875, and has since become one of the most experienced in the area. The department patrols throughout Noble County and is responsible for both law enforcement and public safety. In addition to its policing duties, the Noble Police Department also provides officers to serve as reserve officers who can be called into action when needed. The history of the Noble Police Department goes back to 1875. At that time, Noblesville was just a small village with only a few hundred residents. However, it soon became apparent that the village needed someone to protect it from outside threats. So, in order to create this security force, Mayor John Witherspoon hired six men from Indianapolis to serve as deputies with the mission of securing the community from crime. This program continued until 1911 when mayor Harry Fenton outfitted all of Noblesville’s policemen with radios so that they could communicate more effectively with each other. In 1922, Mayor Averell Harriman appointed Noble County Sheriff Lucius Coyle as head officer of the Noble Police Department. This position would later become Chief Deputy Sheriff within the Noble County Sheriff’s Office which is still held today by Mrs.[unreadable name]. During World War II, Officer John Hickey was drafted into military service and served in Europe before returning home to take over charge atNoble PD on September 1st 1945 after Mayor Ritchie’s death[1]. On October 2nd 1945 Deputy Hickey was shot dead while responding to an accident involving a car on State Street[2]. After Deputy Hickey’s death many changes were made to theNoble PD including creating a Command Unit which consisted of Officers Royce Bellamy (now Captain), Bill Lunsford(now Sergeant)and myself under Commander Griffen[3] In 1947 we acquired our first radio which allowed us much easier communication between units[4]. Our next step was purchasing our first patrol car which we named “The Lady Luck” We also purchased an ambulance during this time period which we called “The Doctor” It wasn’t until 1955 when we finally got our own building which we started calling The Station House[5] It wasn’t until 1957 when we finally moved into our current building located at 201 E Main Street where we continue serving Noblesville today! Even though our department has come through some tough times during its history such as being closed due to budget cuts in 1988,[6], overall it has always been able to overcome them thanks largely to its dedicated officers who work tirelessly every day for their fellow citizens!

Noblesville, Indiana is a city in the U.S. state ofIndiana and the county seat of Noble County. The population was 93,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Noblesville was founded in 1824 by General David Dixon as a post office on the east bank of the Vermillion River, about five miles (8 km) from present-day Indianapolis. In 1828, Dixon's nephew John Noble purchased land adjoining present-day Noblesville to make it his new town site and named it after himself. The first settler in what is now Noblesville was Nathan Hartsfield, who arrived in 1829 with his family from Maine. From 1830 to 1840, many settlers came to Noblesville through water transportation: John Dyer floated downriver from Pennsylvania via Lake Michigan; Eli Whitney shipped goods by boat overland from Baltimore; and Nicholas Metcalfe used wagons pulled by horses to transport goods upriver from Kentucky. By 1840, there were 14 families living in NoblesVILLE The town grew rapidly because of its location on a major trade route between Louisville, Kentucky and Chicago Heights, Illinois—the first large community west of the Mississippi River—and because noble farmers had agreed to sell their products directly to consumers rather than through local merchants or middlemen
