Morgansville, Indiana is home to one of the most pronounced marine gift history in the United States. The town was founded by Samuel and Martha Morrison in 1848 as a small village on the banks of the White River. The Morrosons were soon able to ply their trade importing goods from Europe that had been shipwrecked on the American coast. By 1860, Morgansville had become an important trading center for the area and boasted a population of around 150 people. During this time, sailors, pirates, and other sea-based adventurers would often stop at Morgansville for supplies or simply rest before continuing their journey across pirate-infested waters. One such individual is alleged to have named his locality after himself - Morro Castle - which may account for its long association with maritime gifts. In 1876, when Oliver Hazard Perry became president of America, he decided to promote ocean exploration and development through his newly created Department of Commerce. This department would eventually lead to many technological innovations including submarines and aircraft carriers. This new era also saw a shift in how people perceived maritime gifts - from simple things like anchors and moorings to more complex items like warships and submarines. Mooresville is a small town in Bartholomew County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,152 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Evansville-Munster-Portage, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Mooresville were families from Kentucky who arrived in 1814. They named their new community after General James Moore, a hero of the Mexican War and an old friend of the Kents. The town was originally called "Newburgh," but because it had been within Bartholomew County since 1795, when that county was organized out of parts of Vigo and Licking counties (the latter acquired by Bartholomew County through a land purchase from De Witt Clinton), it received its current name on March 3, 1825. In 1827–28, George Hargrave erected a grist mill on what is now known as Main Street; this mill became one of the leading commercial centers in Bartholomew County and furnished flour for local markets as well as export to other states. In 1830–31 there were also several sawmills operating in Mooresville; these mills produced lumber for local use and exported boards and beams to other towns in the area. During the late 19th century and into the early 20th century, many businesses closed or changed hands in Mooresville; however, some notable firms that operated during this time include Jardine & Co., which manufactured advertising materials such as postcards; Wickersham Bros., grain dealers; Rankin Furniture & Door Company (later Rankin & Clark); Whitney Glass Company; Goudreau’s Feed Store (later Goudreau’s Supermarket); Presser’s Hardware Store (later Presser’s Hardware Warehouse); Fenton Drugstore (now Brown's Pharmacy). 2

Morrowsville was a small village in Union County, Indiana, United States. The Post Office at Morrowsville was established in 1871, and remained in operation until it closed in 1959. Morrowsville was located on the north side of the Ohio River about 12 miles (19 km) east of Warsaw. In 1868, James A. Morrow founded the village of Morrowsville on land that he had purchased from Anthony Wayne. The first school in Morrowsville was built by Mr. Morrow and his wife on a farm near the present day intersection of State Road 2 and State Road 522. It served students from grades one through six. In 1870, Mr. and Mrs. Morrow donated three acres (1 ha) to the Village for public use as a playground and open space known today as Park Rowlands Park). The Village green still stands today at this location! The first post office opened at Morrowsville on May 7, 1871; mail was delivered to Warsaw via wagon across the Ohio River! A store opened in 1872 by JnoPfRmwS with two rooms over an old sawmill on Academy Street which later became known as "The Shack". In 1902, Charles Wickersham organized what is now called First National Bank of Poland Township into two divisions – one based out of Warsaw and one based out of MorrowsVILLE – making it easier to find local financial resources when needed! Dutch Smith ran a millinery business here before moving to Indianapolis in 1907 but continued doing so until his death four years later at age 96 years old; Dutch Smith's children continue operations today under their father's nameDutch Mills Incorporated.} There were few factories active during these early days due to high demand for goods generated by agriculture or transportation costs; instead many people worked farms or did odd jobs around town while they awaited opportunities for advancement or new businesses ventures which would take them away from their homes soon enough! By 1916 there were 4 grocery stores, 1 hardware store, 2 pool halls/golf courses/, 3 bars/restaurants/, 3 movie theaters/, 4 offices/ warehouses/. . .and more developing businesses started up including: Anvil Glass Works (now part of PepsiCo), Biltmore Machine & Tool Company (now part of Intel Corporation), Security Trust Company (), Owens Tire & Rubber Co., John Henson Cycle Shop (). Many residents also engaged in farming providing essential food for themselves and their families which helped sustain the community throughout its various incarnations.} In 1951-1957 only 9 residents lived within 1 mile (1 km) of either bank offering less than 10% access to banking products} By 1960 all banks had been closed leaving just 8 residents living within 1 mile (1 km)of each other} The last post office closure took place on October 15th 1957 }Today only 3 residential properties remain within 1 mile(1 km)of each other]}
In 1803, William Moores and his brother-in-law, James Biddle agreed to purchase the land that would become Mooresville from John Franks. The brothers founded a log cabin on the site in 1805. In 1840, General Anthony Wayne built a home at what is now known as Westside Drive in Mooresville and named it for his father-in-law, James Biddle. In 1865, John Dickey bought the home from General Wayne and renamed itMooresville Plantation. On July 1, 1967, the town of Moorestown was incorporated into Mooresville.
